  • This was an after-thought but with the azalea and rhododendron in bloom in May the areas overlooking the pond were tranquil and brilliant.  more »
  • This beautiful garden was the creation of the Kubota family. They deeded it to the city of Seattle and it is now part of the Seattle Parks system. Take your time to explore - best in Spring & Summer. ...  more »
  • I don't visit often but when I do I always am awed and delighted. I grew up nearby and my parents were volunteers for the gardens but my visits have mostly been since my parents have passed away. I do...  more »

  • Whenever travelling I always look for a local Japanese garden for a bit of peaceful solitude. I was recently visiting Seattle to get away for some soul searching. Finding the Kubota Garden was like finding a diamond in the Emerald City. I've visited several gardens across the United States and I must say that this is one of my favorites. No fancy buildings, tea houses, or Japanese architecture. Instead you find yourself getting lost in the actual garden...after all, that is what it is. Meandering trails and paths, water features, waterfalls, flowering bushes, and manicured lawns. Absolutely breathtaking. One of the best in the nation.
  • This place is awesome. Meg & found it online & decided to check it out. What a beautiful masterpiece of engineered nature. It reminds me of the parks in central Tokyo but here a greater density of life forms enchants the landscape with a magical wonderful & interesting experience. The life long work of a master gardener, rest his soul. Definitely worth exploring more!
  • Absolutely beautiful, hidden paradise, on the edge of the city. Wear good shoes, bring your camera and enjoy. If you come with kids or drinks, just know that the only bathrooms are located near the front entrance and art port-a-potties, often without toilet paper. Had to "rescue" a mom with packet of kleenex the other day. Other than that, it really is stunning.
  • Treasure and beautiful find. Stunning and peaceful garden. The tour guides make the experience even better.
  • Looks good in general, has beautiful flowers, has interesting zoning. Ponds look a bit nasty, not much of decor for Japanese garden. Location is just terrible. Bike and pedestrian trail from Link station goes through someone‚Äč's back and then gets lost in nowhere, very far from the entrance to the garden.
