Kerry Park, Seattle

4.7
#1 of 35 in Parks in Seattle
Head to Kerry Park for views of Seattle, complete with the Space Needle in the foreground of the city skyline. Watch ferries traversing Elliott Bay, see the twinkling city lights, or, on a clear day, spot Mt. Rainier in the distance. This panoramic scene is worth the uphill walk to the park, but the park itself is small and, therefore, typically only used as a place for taking postcard perfect photos and simply enjoying the view. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Seattle holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Kerry Park and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Seriously, this park does have a good view but parking can be awful, we did not spend more than five minutes here, and the view is okay but really not worth the hassle of driving ups the hill and driv...  more »
  • Beautiful area to take pictures, walk , it's close to the Grey house. Great little park for family and friends.  more »
  • Kerry Park up in the Queen Anne area gives one of the best views of Seattle's skyline. It is a small park with very limited parking, but the view is worth your time. Good place for a selfie, too!  more »

  • This place is one of my favorite places in Seattle. It gives an unobstructed view of the downtown skyline, with Space Needle prominently in the foreground. It looks beautiful, whether it's day or night. Lots of people are usually there till late at night. Its the best place to see the new years eve fireworks. There are a lot of photography workshops held here as well for aspiring photographers. Overall, a clean well maintained and awesome place to hang out with friends/family.
  • This park has one of the best views of Seattle, so it is a must see, BUT is often "wall-to-wall" tourists and people who've had their tripods there for half the day taking the same picture as everyone else over and over again. Somehow still frantic. If you are looking for a more local, calmer vibe to go with your sweeping views I recommend Discovery park or just up the street at Marshall Park/Betty Bowen Viewpoint.
  • Probably one of the best places to get a panoramic of the city. Beautiful view. Parking is not great but I'm not sure how many people stay very long here anyway. Worth a go if you're in the area.
  • Nice little place. Great view of the skyline. A few obstructions due to the trees and cranes. This is a small area and I visited this place on a weekday (Friday later afternoon). I believe that this is a popular place and it does get crowded on weekends. Parking your car could be tough here on weekends. On weekday it should be fairly easy.
  • Love this place. I frequent here often when I come to visit Seattle. I usually come here late night to early morning and it's still crowded. Parking can be filled. It's street parking in residential area. Probably the only day it's not crowded is on St. Patrick's Day.

Where to stay in Seattle

Famous for its architecture, Seattle's downtown area features a range of lodging options, including high-end hotels offering expensive rooms with views over Elliott Bay. Remember that despite their prices, many hotels in this waterfront district provide rather small rooms. If you need more space but don't want to break the bank, head out of downtown to some of the city's outlying neighborhoods. Seattle's diverse suburbs offer affordable bed and breakfasts, providing you with all the comforts of home and allowing you to see what local life is really like.
