Kerry Park, Seattle

4.7
#1 of 48 in Parks in Seattle
Head to Kerry Park for views of Seattle, complete with the Space Needle in the foreground of the city skyline. Watch ferries traversing Elliott Bay, see the twinkling city lights, or, on a clear day, spot Mt. Rainier in the distance. This panoramic scene is worth the uphill walk to the park, but the park itself is small and, therefore, typically only used as a place for taking postcard perfect photos and simply enjoying the view. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Seattle holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Kerry Park and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • A great site to see the Space Needle and cruise ships from afar but only worth it if you happen to be in the area. The space is really small and I would only spend around 10, maybe 15 minutes here. I ...  more »

  • I'm a photographer so one of the first stops we made on a recent trip to Seattle is to this park. Great views of the city and on a clear day Mt. Rainier. This was an amazing start to our vacation.  more »

  • Great view of the Seattle skyline. Worth the short drive. Great view day or night. Usually a crowd but not too bad. Always a good viewpoint spot available. The view shows the space Needle in front with the downtown core behind it. I went to a number of viewpoints and found this one to be the closest to the space Needle.
  • This is the place to go to see the surroundings of the city, skyline and the bay. You can travel here by car but the road is quite steep! There is an option to park on a lower level and climb up stairs to get here as well. It gets pretty windy so bring a hat if it's cold (as well as a camera for scenic panoramas)
  • Kerry Park is located in lower Queen Anne, which is a little north from down town Seattle and the Space Needle. This is not actually a park, just a viewpoint and a small play area for kids. The best time to visit is in the morning, near sunset, and in the evening. We went there in the afternoon on a not very clear day but can still see Seattle downtown and Mt. Rainer. We only spent half an hour there and went home because it is not particularly safe in the night. All in all, I would recommend this place to first-time visitors.
  • This is an awesome place to get a view of Seattle. I love bringing out of town guests here. The view at night and during the day are really cool as long as the weather is clear. It can get busy during the day, making it slightly difficult to find parking. I love this spot.
  • Everybody and their dog goes here but that does not mean you should not. It’s beautiful. Day or night. Bring a coffee or a soda and enjoy the view. At night you can watch the lights on the Ferris wheel do their kaleidoscopic show. If you are up for an adventure hike down the hill and take a ride down the super steep slide, bobble on the bobble chair and try your hand at cliff climbing.
