  • We went on a 3 day trip. The crossings both ways were very comfortable. The accommodations in Victoria at the Grand Pacific outstanding! What a beautiful Hotel. We took the Butchart Garden tour right off the ferry and it totally blew me away. We had many wonderful meals and experiences. The C!upper group knows what they are doing! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone.
  • The Victoria Clipper service is a much more pleasant way to get to Victoria from Seattle than flying or driving. It definitely beats arriving an hour and a half in advance to stand in the TSA line for a flight, or squeezing your bags into an overhead bin, or sitting in tiny seats with nowhere to stretch out. The boarding process & security check is much quicker and easier than flying. Going through customs was a breeze. The ride itself is very smooth - even in choppy water, it's smoother than an airliner in turbulence. The seating area is comparable to an Amtrak train or a higher-end bus service; it's not luxurious, but it's comfortable enough, and very efficient. You can stand out on the decks / viewing areas during all parts of the voyage except departure and docking, to take in the sights of Seattle, Victoria and everything in-between. There are great photo opportunities if you're into that. The snacks and duty-free shops are reasonably priced. Service on-board is a bit slow (only 3-5 crew members for ~200 people) but gets the job done. All in all, I can say without hesitation that this is the best way to go to Victoria from Seattle or vice-versa. I've done it both ways and prefer the Clipper by a long run.
  • Overall, a good experience. Wish you could pick your seats though. We were the last assigned group to board and while we were fortunate to find seats together other groups weren't so lucky. Seats need to be upgraded with USB ports. And more snack options would be nice. There was only one kind of chip and no candy. Also no gluten free savory meals or small plates. They provide ginger and a Dramamine type medication for motion sickness for free. Very nice.
  • Comfortable and accommodating. Staff were super nice and $2 refillable coffee was a bonus. Saw a pod of orcas off the boat on our way back to Seattle and the clipper slowed down for everyone to get a good look. Food sold on board was a little deceiving (a little pricey for what you get) but it was nice having the option.
  • This was my first trip., unfortunately I learned about Clippers at the very end of the season. This trip was amazingly relaxing..floating on the water and seeing God's creations in their natural habitat. The trip was comfortable and safe. I saw whales, islands, sea lions, etc. We stopped in a small, quaint town in upstate Washington and proceeded to shop at local shops. I ate a seafood lunch that was sooo tasty. This all day excursion is worth taking.

Where to stay in Seattle

Famous for its architecture, Seattle's downtown area features a range of lodging options, including high-end hotels offering expensive rooms with views over Elliott Bay. Remember that despite their prices, many hotels in this waterfront district provide rather small rooms. If you need more space but don't want to break the bank, head out of downtown to some of the city's outlying neighborhoods. Seattle's diverse suburbs offer affordable bed and breakfasts, providing you with all the comforts of home and allowing you to see what local life is really like.
