Our last stop before leaving Seattle and it did not disappoint. Plenty of picnic tables up the hill and a few down closer to the water. Saw a few walking trails but didn’t have much time to explore. G...  more »

On the 4th of July my family came to this park around 11:30am for a hike. We brought our dog (labrador) and hiked from the first parking lot down to the beach end. The park is actually small compared ...  more »

We walked around a couple of the trails, which were beautiful and very enjoyable. We then headed down to the beach. It was really magical to be sitting on the beach with a temperature of 25c gazing at...  more »

What a great park! It is truly one of Seattle's gems. It really has it all: hiking trails, playgrounds, barbecue grills, shelters for rent, beach access, trains, an old and still active fruit and nut orchard, a creek where salmon spawn and multiple grassy meadows. Our family loves it! Parking can be tricky during low tides, which are amazing, or on really nice summer days. Park at one of the many trail heads if your willing to hike in. The path is fairly easy and beautiful.

This park is so beautiful and is quintessential Seattle, with beautiful views and a fun beach to visit. The park and playground are fun for kids of all ages, and if you're lucky, the bubble man will be there blowing bubbles and entertaining all the kids. It's great fun to go searching for salmon returning upstream in the right season. The trails are great. My only misgivings are: 1) parking can be a real bear here; and 2) the beach if off-limits to dogs, which is totally fine, but then a lot of people break the rule, which seems unfair. It'd be nice to see the rule enforced better if it's going to be in place.

We love this park and how it has something for everyone. The kids have ample space to play in the grass or on the swings, etc at the large park above the beach by the main parking lot. Easy access to the beach on the covered bridge over the train tracks. Beach has a mix of sand and rocks. Very large and beautiful with magnificent views of the Olympics, especially at sunset! The trails are great with small inclines that really turn out to be a good workout. Over 3 miles for a basic loop but tons of options. Easy to find your way around and hard to get lost.

Wonderful place to introduce little ones to nature and hiking. Great trails of short and long distance, with lots to observe along the way. I see lots of joggers here too. After hiking, if you come when the tide is out you're sure to see lots of creatures in the tidepools. Plus a fun, unique play area!

Great beach for exploring. Tons of trails. We participated in the Hour Ocean day and were shocked at how clean it was. We barely had to pick anything up! Compared to other beaches we were expecting waste everywhere especially near the train tracks. It's really well kept and beautiful.

Where to stay in Seattle

Famous for its architecture, Seattle's downtown area features a range of lodging options, including high-end hotels offering expensive rooms with views over Elliott Bay. Remember that despite their prices, many hotels in this waterfront district provide rather small rooms. If you need more space but don't want to break the bank, head out of downtown to some of the city's outlying neighborhoods. Seattle's diverse suburbs offer affordable bed and breakfasts, providing you with all the comforts of home and allowing you to see what local life is really like.
