  • Stopped by here on a cool Sunday. There was a good crowd but not packed. Walked across the walkway to the beach. The park has nice trails and is very wooded as well as having the nice beach. On a nice...  more »
  • This is one of my favorite parks in the city. The park is huge. There are tons of trails, including one that runs down along a creek. There are signs about the salmon runs, but I haven't actually seen...  more »
  • Every time I come to Seattle, I love to go and walk at Carkeek Park. There are numerous paths beyond the main path that starts from behind the QFC on Holman street and leads to the waterfront. The mai...  more »

  • Seattle has some the best parks in the United States: Golden Gardens, Discovery, Seward, and Magnuson, to name a few. Carkeek is my favorite. Where else can you bask in the glory of the Puget Sound, in the company of old growth forest and the bustle of a passing freight train. The built meets the natural. You cross a bridge to the beach, where there are incredible views of boats, wildlife, and the Olympics. For hikers, there are miles of trails to explore. Bring sunscreen; you're going to want to stay for a while.
  • Great beach park, surrounded by lots of woods but only accessible by car. It's a long walk from the nearest bus stop. Other than that well maintained and usually not too crowded.
  • My kids and I love this park. My kids love the pedestrian bridge that goes over the train tracks. The beach is always a good spot for quality time. The kids' park is always bustling with families and chillun's having fun. My daughter particularly likes the Salmon slide.
  • Well worth a visit! Hard to imagine this is located amidst the city. It feels as if you're transported to another place with park, forest, trails, beach, and wildlife. Also great for gatherings in the main park area. Favorite part is the beach and view of Puget Sound. Extremely majestic!
  • Wonderful series of trails, great views at sunset, some really nice open space, great place to watch salmon migrating, sand pipers, seals. Home to Seattle's oldest apple orchard, Piper's orchard, with 100+ year old apple tress. Art in the park starts in late July, Apple festival in Piper's Orchard last Saturday in Sept usually. Look for "Friends of Piper's Orchard." Check out the visitors center with a lot of info on events and chances to volunteer.
