Absolutely the best grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had! And the tomato soup was delicious too. I had fun sitting in there eating lunch while watching them make the cheese! A mist go!
Beechers is right across the street from Pike Place Market. It's interesting to watch them making the cheese through the glass window. As far as eating there, you have to be a grilled cheese sandwich ... read more »
Situated in the Pike Place tourist trap, this place is understandably very busy. Tourists love looking at the cheese-making process, and there is usually a tasty sample or two. This is a great stop for out-of-town guests to pick up a few small triangles of cheese to bring home as a tasty souvenir.* Facing the store, the line on the left side near the street is for food (sandwiches and macaroni & cheese), and going into the store on the right will lead you past the cheese-making window to the start of the cheese-buying line. I'm not a huge fan of their macaroni and cheese, but their classic cheddar or smoked cheddar is quite good. *I wouldn't recommend flying or driving with cheese if your trip will be hot, but you can take cheese in your carry on (it's a solid). Just pack it somewhere accessible because the density can trigger a search.
The cheese and soup was very good, but the bread was overcooked and the soup ruined by croutons. The croutons are added to the soup by the employees meaning they are soggy and the soup grainy by the time the sandwich is finished. The breadzel I had was dried out and I observed an employee add fresh ones over the old without rotating them.
Best Mac and cheese you've ever had. A bit on the pricier side, but most certainly worth it. Try to take selfie with cheese bath!
It's a busy place, so get in line. The Macaroni taste delicious. Nice decorated place.
I'm not a cheese connoisseur, but to an average person Beecher's offers tasty Mac & Cheeses at a good price with an interesting history and interior. Thumbs up.
