Loved the experience!! We had the best time with our girls my advise is to wear. White hat and stand in the sun they love the light colors
Spent the afternoon here during a trip to the area. Very informative video and beautiful butterflies. They seemed to love my husband. Lol the package deal with the mirror and laser mazes was also fun.
My husband and I visited this place early on a Monday morning. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable, they answered numerous questions as I have raised butterflies with my preschool students and... read more »
Wow, what a magical place! Huge atrium houses thousands of exotic butterflies and you slowly walk through this Zen -like environment while they flutter around you and through the tropical gardens that serve as their habitat. You can hang out in the atrium as long as you want and there's a short 3D educational movie you view before entering. Very special times will be shared here with your loved ones.
Not worth the money. I went on Sunday around noon with my girlfriend, we do not have kids. The atrium was fairly small and overcrowded with children screaming and swatting butterflies. Next door, the mirror maze and laser room were also geared toward children. I do not normally have a problem with kids running around public places, but being that all areas were already crowded, it certainly made things more difficult to enjoy. In addition, the cost for two people was over $60 and we were only there for ~30min. At this price, we could have got to a couple of movies, spent a few hours at the zoo, or had a nice night out. All of these things would have been more enjoyable than the Butterfly Wonderland
For the price you pay and part of the exhibits are still unavailable, save your money and go to the zoo instead. Atrium is hot not clean there are roaches crawling around in there. Its suppose to be for butterflies like i paid to see. They make you watvh a 15 minute bullshit 3D movie that just talks about the generation of 1 butterflies offspring. So that right there is the only thing that takes long to see unless theres a line. But i was in and out within 30 minutes. Not worth the $20 per head admission.
Great experience, although relatively expensive. Definitely a TON of butterflies throughout the garden, so a good value there. Can feel a little crowded if there are large groups of people huddled onto the paths. The little exhibits before and after aren't really worth the time.
Very over priced for the experience. I mean , it's cool, but not for the amount of time you spend. We went with 2 grandsons, 5 and 3. Fine for the older one, but unless you have very docile kids, definitely not the place for little ones. The attendants in the conservatory watch you like hawks. The 5 year old spotted a butterfly on a bench and while I reminded him not to touch it, I suggested he slowly kneel down to see it closer and put his hand down near it to see if it would climb on him. The butterflies can land on you or climb on you, but you are instucted upon entry not to touch them, as oils on fingers aren't good for their wings. As he did so, an attendant rushed over and gruffly said...don't trap the butterfly...no please, no engaging him with maybe some fun facts. He wasn't trapping the butterfly and I was standing right there. I felt like he was waiting in the wings, no pun, to use his authority and scold someone. I felt the same way in the gift shop where we spent some time being followed in every aisle we went. Prices there astronomicle, we were just trying to find something affordable for the boys to bring home. Cafe over priced as well. So I guess overall not as great as it could have been. $135.00 later I feel like we could have spent that money elsewhere, had more fun that lasted longer than a couple of hours. Stroller btw, aren't allowed in the conservatory. The guy in the room with the fish, sting rays and sharks was awesome!! Most all other staff friendly as well.
