  • Without a doubt one of the best waterfalls on the north shore drive. I love the hiking paths here and the campsites are great! ( which is why it is almost impossible to get a site in the summer) We ar...  more »
  • Gorgeous scenery and a not particularly challenging hike made this a lovely "entry level" hiking excursion for our first North Shore trip. Would highly recommend!  more »

  • We went camping here last week and had a great time. The picnic area by the Lower Campground would be a fun stop if driving along the North Shore. If one has time it is about a half mile to the top of the gorge where the river is quite calm. The hike is well worth the effort. Many neat sights overlook the lake. What a peaceful sound to t hear waves crashing against the shore during the night. We will come again.
  • My wife, our friends and I made reservations at Temperance River a year out from our trip. And it was well worth the wait. The Lower camp is my favorite; it's closer to the water and the spring near the cart-in sites is unbeatable. The sites we had overlooked a secluded stretch of shorline and the whole experience was divine.
  • Not only is Temperance River State Park right next to the scenic highway 61, but it boasts some of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. My fiance and I took a day trip up to Lutsen and stopped every 15-20 minutes on the way from Duluth at various state parks and rest areas. This is a must see for anyone travelling north on 61 when you visit the Duluth, MN area.
  • Beautiful area lake superior at your door. Great facilities available and many other places to visit nearby. Stellar views and natural Vistas here. Great campground as well.
  • There is so much here. Great place to camp. Great place to picnic. Shoreline, river, beach and the waterfalls are out of this world gorgeous. I keep coming back. The hidden gem is the constant running spring with the best water anywhere.
