  • Can't say enough about the absolutely magical display of Christmas lights. It's a must see for kids and grown ups alike.
  • Visited the Winter Light Spectacular with a friend and thought that it was a job well done! Opens around 5:30 at night and runs until 10. I visited on a Saturday, reached the Zoo entrance around 6:15 ...  more »

  • The Lehigh Valley Zoo might not be as massive as other zoos (namely the Philly Zoo) but it's local and the staff members are absolutely delightful to speak with. The selection of animals still makes for a very fun stop and they are actively working on adding more buildings and animals to the zoo. The drive to and out of the Zoo is always fantastic and it's great to see the views and animals that are roaming around. Driving over the watery bridge is something i'll never forget from my childhood.
  • We went in late August (after the kids went back to school, and they didn't have field trips yet). The ride into the Zoo is a long and winding path, very secluded and peaceful. The price of admission was fair. The grounds and the walkways were clean and easy to navigate. The habitats are well taken care of and the staff were all helpful and friendly. The only negative was the food. I see in other comments this is also a negative and I hope the Zoo will find a way to upgrade the selection and preparation. It's costly to feed a family. On our next visit we will pack a picnic lunch. We are eager to see the Giraffe's when they arrive. On the way out we did enjoy the beautiful surroundings and were fortunate enough to see the herds of Bison and Elk. The preserve is truly a Gem right here in the Lehigh Valley.
  • This is a neat place to take your kids. Very slow and laid-back. You can take your time walking around looking at the animals and explain each one to your children. You do not feel rushed by anyone. Occasionally you may run into a groundskeeper you know. It is not like the old zoo we remember as children, they do have updated animals and it is a very clean park. They do have a snack stand towards the end. The snack stand is a little pricey, but it does help support the zoo. You can also pack a lunch and sit at the picnic tables under a nice pavilion and eat all your own picnic food. Do your part and help support something good in our community. • Better known as Trexlertown Game Preserve years ago, has and is currently expanding. It is well worth visiting as me spent the better part of 4 or 5 hours exploring the exhibits. Lots of things for young kids and adults alike! They are planning on holding exhibits for Halloween and other events. Well worth going for the zoo, but nothing much worth saying about food.
  • They have an Akolotl and you can watch them feed the penguins. I really prefer this zoo to Philadelphia zoo. If you're looking for a zoo with mainly North American wildlife and an Akolotl this is the best choice.
