Lehigh Valley Zoo reviews
The grounds were pretty and easy to navigate. I feel like they tried to make an effort for mother's day BUT there were not many animals at all to see. I understood why there weren't birds but there...

We came here a couple days before Christmas and really enjoyed the lights! There is plenty of parking and we had no issues navigating our double jogging stroller through the zoo/lights.

We love/loved this zoo. When the kids were younger it was a great place to to let them explore and experience the animals up close. Clean, inviting and calm. A beautiful day out. As young adult she still loves this zoo and the little area driving out is something to enjoy.
Definitely an awesome place especially for kids! Not too big and very easy to walk around. Surprisingly cool animals for a zoo so small. Always thought that this was in the city but the location is really great out in the countryside. Definitely recommend!
The Lehigh Valley zoo is a nice little zoo, great for young families. You can easily see everything in the zoo in 2 hours or less. There's a little playground for the kids, the otters and penguins are a lot of fun, and sometimes you can pay to feed the giraffes. They have a Geaker's tacos which is good to eat at, but closes an hour before the zoo does. Fording the river is a neat experience when you leave, as is driving through the nature preserve.
If you're looking for a small zoo this is it. Very calm and easy to walk around. However while walking around looking at some of the animals and their enclosures things just aren't right. The river otters didn't have much water and it was very green and slimy. The horse had a matted mane and tail. Very small enclosures for some animals. Maybe it's just me but personally I don't see this zoo as worth it. Granted this is just my personal opinion though. Update: yes algae is okay for the river otters ecosystem there is a defined difference between thick algae sludge and normal algae in water. Also the water level was very low. On the wall of the enclosure you can see where the level of water should/used to be. Yes some horses may be shy/not like human interaction. But that does not mean that their tails or mane should get matted. How can you trim their hooves down but not brush or comb out their mane and tail? And yes I am aware that anyone reading my review is thinking I'm a "Karen".
My boyfriend booked me a surprise trip to meet Meeko the raccoon through the private animal encounter experience. Our guides were Dani and Natalie, who were absolutely amazing. It was such an informative, enjoyable, memorable experience. The rest of the zoo was also wonderful - very clean and a large variety of animals. We enjoyed watching the penguins feeding! Such a great organization and a fantastic experience. Can’t wait to come back back and meet more of the animals through the encounter experiences!!
