South Beach offers swimming and outdoor activities, as well as restaurants, shops, and fishing spots. Lie in the sun on the wide, sandy beach, head out for a swim or snorkel, and explore the dunes. You can find numerous pen and scallop shells at low tide, as well as starfish, sea snails, and crabs. Walk along the 215 m (700 ft) long pier, then put your feet in the water while sipping a coffee--or join the fishermen at work. Numerous birds inhabit the area, and photography spots abound. • Stayed on 16th St last weekend and loved the long quiet walks on the spacious and secluded south beach. Great scenery, gentle sloping shores, wonderfully peaceful.
  • Early June is the best time to go - weather is not too hot yet, bugs aren't going wild, typically not too crowded yet. This side of the island usually has strong rip tides that will take you out to sea if not careful. Beautiful scenery and wildlife all around.
  • This is the place on Hilton Head for perfect sunsets. Lots of dolphins to see too! During low tide the Dolphins feed right by the beach making them very easy to see. Bring bug repellent April to Oct in the evenings, lots of little flies.
  • Scenery, wildlife, and quiet. Lots of family pics taken here.
  • A very nice area in the southern end of Hilton Heads Sea Pines area. Water is very calm and is usually not crowded.
  • Fun place to get to the beach
