#2 of 97 in Shopping in Georgia
If you like chocolates and candies, River Street Sweets will satisfy. Established in 1978 with the purchase of a giant fudge-making pot for their gift shop, this sweet shop offers an opportunity to see candymaking in action. You'll have the chance to try samples of candied pecans, ice cream, fudge, taffy, and the store's specialty pralines. Products are available for purchase, and all candies come with a 100% guarantee of satisfaction. You can smell the "sweetness" down the street! As soon as you walk in the door, you greeted with a smile and a try a sample Pecan Praline (fresh made). If you're a chocolate lover, you MUST try the ch...  more »

The ice cream was grainy and tasteless. We bought the overpriced chocolate dipped candy and it was inedible. We had to throw it out. Spend your money on sweets some place else.  more »

They gave out praline samples, but most of the stuff didn't have prices on them, probably because they are so overpriced. $23 a pound for pralines? Crazy! They also had overpriced ice cream am slushie...  more »

I ordered a tin of goodies for one of my good friends going through a tough time that lives in SC. Somehow I got the wrong address, and caused many issues with UPS. However, River Street Sweets was awesome. Not only did they send my friend a fresh package to make sure her sweets were still good, but they were so sweet! I would recommend them to ANYONE. Honestly, I live in NC and instead of buying locally I will make sure to buy from them for all future purchases. THANK YOU so much for your understanding for my mistake!!!

Me and my family visited this store and it was very busy. The staff was very friendly and even gave out samples. After leaving and getting to our hotel I realized we didn't get a caramel apple that I had purchased. I called and spoke with Kenny, a manager, and he was very helpful. He apologized for the inconvenience and offered to credit my card, me to come back and pick it up, or he'd ship me one. After asking to ship me one, he decided to ship me 2 caramel apples one with chocolate and one with chocolate and pecans. This was very nice of this company and the management to take care of their customers. Most impressive thing was how yummy all their sweets are. I'd definitely come again and recommend this store to everyone!! Thank you River St. Sweets

Great pralines and bear claws! Love watching the the taffy machine aerate the taffy and the roller stretch and cut the pieces. Awesome to see the cady you are eating made in front of you.

The best pralines I've ever had. Whatever kind of sweet treats you are looking for they have. They give free praline samples. You can watch the candy chefs make the wonderful sweet creations. They have an ice cream parlor inside as well. This is definitely a must see while on River Street.

Everything is better when it's fresh. Peanut butter cups, pralines, and the old school taffy machine are all greasy in their own right.
