  • If you are on one of the Hop On Hop Off tours, this would be the best place to have your first hop off. There's plenty of little boutique shops (including a really cool pet boutique!), a couple of spo...  more »
  • Great for sitting outside if you have live music playing. Its a lively area with so so shops but good place for a bite or drink and carriage ride.
  • We walked there after hearing it was a good place to eat, shop, and walk. The art galleries are beautiful. The candy shop has fresh pralines and are not to be missed. The Haitian memorial affords a ne...  more »

  • I was just done writing my Wendy's review when all of a sudden Google said, "Hey review this other place you were at! We used location services from your phone to see you were here!" Come on Google, a little privacy? Anyway this market in Savannah is amazing. Great food, great drunk people, and great college students to talk to. One time I witnessed a bird steal another birds meal and I felt sad. But I didn't feed that original bird tho, birds got viruses. Anyway, if you are looking for a great place to go have a drink I recommend looking in the City Market, Wet Willie's to be specific. Also if you go there and you are wondering what the Treehouse is, it is a bar/club. Also eat at that pizza place thats there Shibs good
  • Walk around and enjoy all there is to see in Savannah. The candy company and Vinnie Van Go-Gos are right there. Take a horse drawn carriage ride around town.
  • As a local, I don't frequent city market very often anymore. I will occasionally grab dinner at Vinnie's, Belford's, B&D's, or Wild Wings (which are all worth it), but outside of that I make it a habit to avoid city market. If you enjoy local art, there are some good galleries, but visit before sundown. After sundown, the crowd can get a bit rough. Definitely not appropriate for children! Ellis Square can be fun for the kids, since they can play in the fountains, but you may come across some unpleasant people - even during the day. The Tervis store is just off the square, if you enjoy the cups. As far as the bars in the area, they're not great. Just off City Market however, both Ampersand and Social Club are great for younger crowds! I don't want to tell visitors to stay away from City Market, but there are many other great areas of town to visit - most tourists tend to get sucked into staying around this area without venturing out, and you will definitely miss so much of what Savannah has to offer, if you do that!
  • Wonderful area of downtown Savannah. Great galleries and restaurants, a few tacky shops but kept to a minimum. This hasn't been scrubbed clean to have nothing but faceless chains, still lots of local color. Well worth the visit
  • LOTS to see and do. Great atmosphere. Check it out if you have not already.
