  • While visiting our son we took a trip over the Golden gate to Sausalito to a building that holds the model built of San Francisco bay and the delta. It is all concrete and the entire waterway does a s...  more »
  • ... and for all those who even want to look closely at the Bay area with their streams in real time, interesting in any case. It came about somewhat in the years but, because yes no longer officially used by the model. But which somehow makes the special charm. We have during our stay in SF Sausalito always, so we had it not so far. Also liked our twins (almost 8). Also because the staff is very child friendly (school classes are there).

  • It's easy to be wowed by the natural beauty of the Bay area, and the San Francisco Bay-Delta Model explains the many functions (natural and man-made) that contribute to that splendour. Plan to spend a...  more »

  • The staff greeted me at the door and gave me a amazing history lesson! Gave me a pamphlet to help explain what I would looking at inside the exhibit. They even had a theater with a cool show. This place has some important history for the bay area and I strongly encourage people to stop and visit this fun interactive spot : )
  • Signage to the place is great, but once parked you have to figure out to walk to the water side of the warehouse to get in. Once in, the model is intriguing, but bigger than you thought and less detailed. Truly an engineering model. No moving parts, lots of reading and science stuff. If you're expecting a charming model of the Golden Gate Bridge you'll be disappointed. If you like hydrology you'll love it.
  • We came here on our honeymoon as engineering students. It's still a fabulous place to visit.
  • Very great informative educational place! The entrance is a bit hard to find but its very interesting and cool inside.
  • This hydraulic scale model is so fascinating! It even has a tide cycle. There's also a whole bunch of environmental and engineering info to read about the Bay Area and the Delta. Best of all, it's free!
