  • The model itself is apparently the size of 2 football fields and really cool to walk around. Leading up to the model, they have museum-y rooms to walk through and an intro video, so it's actually quit...  read more »
  • It is a large model of the Bay in which reproduces the movement of the tides. The visit is free and has enough panels explaining. We visited it in improvised manner while passing. We could not spend all the time that deserves

  • We traveled with a civil engineer who was delighted to find something like this. Plenty of hands on features for the kids, but enough science and technology to keep adults interested. It was larger th...  read more »
  • Signage to the place is great, but once parked you have to figure out to walk to the water side of the warehouse to get in. Once in, the model is intriguing, but bigger than you thought and less detailed. Truly an engineering model. No moving parts, lots of reading and science stuff. If you're expecting a charming model of the Golden Gate Bridge you'll be disappointed. If you like hydrology you'll love it.
  • Very great informative educational place! The entrance is a bit hard to find but its very nice inside.
  • If you've gone to Sausalito then this is a must see attraction. Located about a mile or so from the main part of town its only a short walk from the ferry. It's hard to put into words how big this place is once you are inside and being free makes it a even better. I get the feeling that a lot of visitors don't bother venturing this far so it's generally quite. Good disability access throughout the building as well but it you walk from town it can be a bit hilly, I believe there is a bus service that runs past here.
  • Wonderful place to get a real feel of the scale of the entire bay area! Especially if it's a unpleasant day!
  • Amazing free adventure to have in the bay area. Super quiet and usually deserted. Great place for kits or inquisitive adults.
