  • Excellent exhibit and interesting presentation by the Park Rangers. It's well worth the visit for some New England history!
  • The site is a reproduction. It is peaceful and interesting area.
  • This is one of my favorite historic sites in New England. The Park Service puts on a fantastic, interactive tour in a restored and working iron works. It's amazing when they turn in the machinery and you can just imagine the workers of old and the important role they played in the growth of the New World.
  • If you live in the area and you have not visited. you're missing out on some fascinating local history.
  • One of my favorites. We are fortunate to live in the North shore area (Ipswich ) with so many National Parks close and convenient AND so interesting. With Massachusetts ' well established history of industry, the Saugus Iron Works was one of the very first 'basic" such places. Mining the bog iron ore from the marshes , smelting and fabricating iron products using local resources created a valuable resource in the early days of our State.
