Saratoga Spa State Park, Saratoga Springs

Categories: State Parks, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web
Listed as a National Historic Landmark, Saratoga Spa State Park is best known for its mineral springs but is also home to a variety of cultural, historical, and recreational activities. The area was deemed a State Reservation in 1909 after businesses were exploiting the springs and depleting them. After World War II, veterans and Holocaust survivors were brought to the springs to benefit from its medicinal effects. Now the park boasts two swimming pools and two golf courses--a championship 18-hole course and a 9-hole course. Visit the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, the Roosevelt Baths and Spa, or the other museums located in the park. Take a free guided "tasting" tour of the springs to sample the different types of mineral water. If you would like an appointment at the spa, be sure to make reservations ahead of time. • Great park for an easy walk in the woods. Tried the five mile hike and it was so peaceful. Dog friendly too.
  • Such a treat. Massage & mineral bath soak! Walking distance from hotel-- so very convenient. Atmosphere is old world & warm. Locker room small and not much seating for getting dressed.
  • After a visit to Roosevelt Spa (steam, mineral bath soak, massage) a pleasant, refreshing walk through beautiful woods in the adjacent park.
  • One of my favorite state parks. I have yet to see a concert there, but I love the park. I run cross country races there, and it's a very beautiful place go take walks. And nearby Saratoga is a great place for shopping and hanging out for some great food. It makes for a fantastic day trip.
  • Best park in the area for running, playing, walking the dog...
  • There is a problem with Googles map. It is showing a Saratoga Park in Brooklyn, NY not the one that it should be showing. It should be Saratoga Springs State Park in Saratoga Springs, NY. Please correct. Thanks
  • This is a nice park, but it is not what the pictures show! It's just one block of trees and sidewalk, no golf course and swimming like Google is saying. The address listed is not Brooklyn, it's in Saratoga, north of Albany.
  • Excellent park
