State Park Nature / Park
Listed as a National Historic Landmark, Saratoga Spa State Park is best known for its mineral springs but is also home to a variety of cultural, historical, and recreational activities. The area was deemed a State Reservation in 1909 after businesses were exploiting the springs and depleting them. After World War II, veterans and Holocaust survivors were brought to the springs to benefit from its medicinal effects. Now the park boasts two swimming pools and two golf courses--a championship 18-hole course and a 9-hole course. Visit the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, the Roosevelt Baths and Spa, or the other museums located in the park. Take a free guided "tasting" tour of the springs to sample the different types of mineral water. If you would like an appointment at the spa, be sure to make reservations ahead of time. Plan your visit to Saratoga Spa State Park and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Saratoga Springs vacation route planner.

  • Amazingly clean and beautiful park. Fun to see the fountains and geyser. Museum of cars was interesting. Bit small for my taste.  more »

  • great walking, biking and historical park. Both free and fee access in the summer, but all the park is easily walk-able from the free parking. updated bathrooms at most of the picnic pavilions.
  • Great place for a picnic and play at the playground. My daughter had a blast. The pool was right next door but not open when we were there.
  • Beautiful park! Great for family photography.
  • This is a great place to go hiking. However, I was here for the Ragnar Relay. I had sooooo much fun giving the safety speech. The park is beautiful.
  • Always a great park, fishing, hiking, playgrounds, excellent picnic areas.
