On the three-hour riding and walking tour, you'll see a variety of exotic wildlife, including gazelles, zebras, antelopes, Cape buffalo, and wildebeests. During the walking portion, admire colorful birds in the open-air aviary, and watch primates play in the branches on Lemur Island. After the safari, try some barbecue and local wine on the cafe's veranda. On-site lodging is available. For guided tours on an all-terrain vehicle, reserve in advance; space is limited. • Family visit on the safari! Nice to see animals not all caged up, they are out free. Giraffes came up to the jeep, very cool! Will have to go back and spend the night in one of the tents.  more »

  • Excellent place for a look at wild life not normally found elsewhere. The price seemed a bit steep at first, but once you realize the extent of the operations and the fact that all their staff are employed (no volunteers), you feel the cost is worth it. The 400 acre site is something to be admired. From the "base camp" clean bathrooms, nice outdoor areas with space heaters (it was cold and windy) as well as the misters for summer, this place has all you need to make for a fun day of safari on a 12-person Jeep. Our safari guide was extremely knowledgeable. There wasn't one question he didn't have an answer to. We started with a walking tour of he flamingo pond, the aviary which holds one of the most curious birds, in the sense that he just follows the crowd the entire time. Once on the Jeep, our tour guide stopped at all vantage points to get a good look at the giraffes, rhinos, antelope of many kinds, Cape buffalo, etc., etc. We opted for the lunch option available for $15/person. A really good bargain for what you get: BBQ pulled pork, smoked chicken, potato salad, green salad, fruit salad and dessert (chocolate pudding). All really good. There is all-you-can-drink hot cocoa and drinks for additional purchase. All in all, this is a really good place to visit. In the summer, I'm sure this place must be extremely busy. Plan accordingly.
  • Quite on the pricey side if ever you decide sleeping in their tents. The price of staying in their tents don't include the tour, so keep that in mind. Once you get past the price, you'll realize that you're instantly transported to the Serengeti. The tents are comfortable with a bathroom and electric blankets. The tour is a must as you'll get driven around the 400-acre property to see African species of antelopes, rhinos, and more antelope (the giraffes were not around this time of the year as it was a late winter). All in all, if you're with your family, it will definitely be one for the books as the kids will never forget the experience.
  • The tent cabin got pretty hot during the summer without an AC. However the buffet dinner was scrumptious and the service was stellar. After dinner we strolled around and check out many exotic birds. The safari tour was the absolute highlight of the visit. Out tour guide was very knowledgeable of the animals and her humorous style kept everyone laughing the whole time. Hope the place will be around for many generations to come.
  • I haven't even gotten there yet and I love them. I booked four events through them for a family vacation and had to completely change every detail of the trip....TWICE. They were extremely patient and worked through the changes with me. Very clear they want the customer to have a good experience.
  • Had a wonderful adventure in the rain today. Our tour guide Nate was funny and informative. Thanks for a wonderful trip, better than the zoo any day. Saw giraffes, cheetahs, flamingos, foxes, pigs, antelopes, buffalo, and more so close and personal. Lunch was also a great addition. All you can eat smoked chicken, pulled pork, potato salad, Caesar salad, fruit, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, grilled zucchini, rolls, and chocolate pudding for dessert. Includes coffee, tea, and hot chocolate too! Go on this adventure and enjoy!
