  • Great Facilities, Well-Tended Animals, Great Staff, Very Cool "Safari". We've been to facilities around the world (Safari Parks, Zoo's, etc.) and this ranks as one of the best from the "Total Package"...  more »

  • Nice area located in Santa Rosa featuring a sort of a wildlife reserve where visitors go on a safari tour complete with safari Jeep. Very educational for both adults and children. After the jeep tour, the guide will take visitors on a walking tour featuring some wildlife such as monkeys, and birds, etc. There are accommodations on the site should one have the desire to spend a night among the wildlife. I thought the food was very good - BBQ smoked chicken cooked over wood, pulled pork...good stuff. Safari West is about 2 hours north of the east bay where I reside and it was well worth the trip. If you're looking for something different to do that's fun and educational, give this place a try!
  • Had an amazing day - the safari was great and also informative, the guided walk around was equally nice and the food was good too. The guides are quite knowledgeable as well. It's not quite the real safari but that's not a comparison to be made. It makes for a good family outing but probably more entertaining for smaller kids as they won't miss the big cats.
  • Had a great time staying at Safari West. The tour we took was first rate; 2 1/2 hours with an extremely knowledgeable and articulate guide (Richard). The other folks we interacted with were all courteous, polite, and professional. The grounds and facilities were clean and maintained at a higher level than I've ever seen at an outdoor venue. Far larger and a lot more animals than we were expecting... Highly recommend Safari West and will probably return.
  • Awesome facility, loved the Jeep tour and I definitely suggest taking advantage of walking around the facility again after your tour to see things you may have missed. We picked the 5pm to take advantage of the weather cooling down and the chance to see a nice sunset.
  • today on fathers day eight family members had the time of our lives on this :Safari west tour Our tour guide Ben had us in stitches the whole time Ben has such a wonderful sense of humor and his love for these animals is undeniable being in that natural environment and having these wonderful creatures a few feet away and some a arm length away! was astonishing Your the best Ben
