State Park
Trione-Annadel State Park is a state park of California in the United States. It is situated at the northern edge of Sonoma Valley and is adjacent to Spring Lake Regional Park in Santa Rosa. It offers many recreational activities within its 5092acre property. The rock formations of Trione-Annadel have played central role in its history: its volcanic origins, the Native American use of obsidian, the early 1900s mining of cobblestones, and modern hikers' appreciation of its volcanic rock outcrops. These lands were occupied by the Wappo and Pomo people in prehistoric times, who would have primarily inhabited the riparian zones and the marsh perimeter. Annadel includes what some biologists consider the best example of undisturbed northern oak woodlands in existence. Visitors can enjoy the park's diverse wildlife and scenery during any time of the year but are perhaps most rewarded from April through June when most wildflowers are in bloom.
For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Santa Rosa holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Annadel State Park and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • This is a very popular urban park. If you are going to hike/walk come on week day mornings and afternoons. After work and on weekends the trails are owned by mountain bikers. Next to NO mountain bikes...  more »

  • I absolutely love hiking. Annadel is beautiful. Family friendly trails. Some more intense trails. Good for biking, family hikes, picnics. Get out enjoy mother nature at annadel
  • Within an hours walk you will feel like you have left the city life and will be on your way to a mini vacation of peace and ease. This is a great place to take the family for a hike or a bike ride. If you are out for a family mountain bike ride with little guys be prepared to take your time walking with the tikes. There are a lot of large rocks on the trails that will feel like huge boulders to them and they may need to get off the bikes and walk through the challenging spots. This park will make anyone a strong mountain biker. Just be respectful of all the other users at all times and please stay on the marked trails. The rest of the wildlife thanks you for respecting their homes. The other great thing about this park is its proximity to great local restaurants. All of them next to Howarth Park are excellent eats and the yogurt shop is a perfect end for a long day of adventure and exercise! I am also a fan of planning my hike to end on Rough Go in the evening to watch the sun set over Santa Rosa. Amazing!
  • Varied terrain, but mediocre. The Ranger Station is the most professional and informative in the area. Thank you Sara for all of your help.
  • This place has the best trails in northern California, for hikers and bikers of all skill levels. Whether you're in the mood for a quick stroll up to Lake Ilsanjo, or want to test your endurance with a gnarly ride up to and around Ledson Marsh, Annadel has it all.
  • Hiking and biking are abundant. Looking for something light or more challenging, this is your place. Parking can be found off site if needed. Easily accessible from several locations. Bring a friend and be travel-wise; I personally have seen a mountain lion hunting small game in the high meadow, East and above of the lake (S. Burma trail).
