Where to stay in Santa Monica

Santa Monica's hotels range from luxury to boutique, offering more than 3,500 rooms located at or near the waterfront. Staying at a beachfront resort can cost a bundle, so if you have a limited budget in mind, consider accommodations away from the water. Hotels just a few blocks from the ocean offer comfortable rooms with free Wi-Fi and cable TV at a fraction of the cost charged by their beachfront equivalents. For an even more affordable stay, consider one of the city's inns or motels.

  • This is a great place to go spend a day at the pool, have a private event or meeting, or to go and take a tour of the Marion Davies House. The tour of the house is awesome and very historical. The tour guides were great and gave a lot of fantastic information about the historical significance of the house and the area. Come check it out and spend some time in the sun at the beach. You can not go wrong!
  • One of the best beaches in Los Angeles. Paid parking. Outdoor showers. Even a swimming pool (entrance fee). Plus "back at the beach" restaurant where you can eat on the sand! Lovely place.
  • Enjoyed two experiences here. The Marion Davies Guest House and a concert by Jayme Stone and accompanying musicians. Docents were quite fun and knowledgeable. Beautiful sound and soulful performamces by each musician...bonus they all harmonized beautifully as well.
  • Party on at Annenberg Community Beach House. We had our anniversary party in the modern Sand and Sea room. A lovely view of the ocean from this space. Plan to watch the setting sun. The indoor outdoor space is clean. The is staff is friendly. I did not like the chairs we were required to use. You are only allowed to serve beer and wine/no hard liquor. This great romantic location is ideal for a anniversary or wedding. We had 47 guests and had plenty of space for entertainment and dancing. This was a magical night. Especially loved our caterer Back on the Beach
  • The Annenberg is a gem of an option for beachgoers in Santa Monica. Although it's many blocks away from the SM Pier, it's not a secret, so be wary of big crowds -- especially during the weekend and during the summer. That said, the offerings are great: a swimming pool, plenty of equipment for kiddos, nice public restrooms and changing areas, outdoor seating with public wifi, and a great spot to lock up your bike and grab a bite to eat with your feet in the sand.
