  • This is a must if you are doing any wine tastings. You actually need to stop at both tasting rooms. Stop by the old shed first and then go to the newer building. They are only 1/4 mile apart. They hav...  more »
  • We went to both their locations, original "Shack " and the newer "Foxen". Both offer a great selection of wines and are worth trying. The Shack has a more laid back vibe with original barn like tastin...  more »
  • 6 wineries in one day, too much.. We visited late in the day, great wine of course, but we should have changed the schedule!, next time. This winery is a must visit.

  • Went wine tasting there. The ladies were very polite and friendly. We tasted a few wines outside, then moved indoors to chat. We'll definitely return in the future.
  • This is an outstanding winery!! I went here tasting with some friends and ended up signing up for a membership. Great service and great wine! Oh, and the pinot is the best!
  • The Pinot Noir wines made here from the Santa Maria Valley are amazing.
  • Two Location, side by side, from the same family operated company: FOXEN & FOXEN 7200 Foxen 7200 aka the Old Shack has been around since 1800s; the name is even tied to the road. This little shack is where the heart and soul is for Foxen; cute and rustic. It's absolutely beautiful on a sunny day with fresh breezes blowing in and out. You will find that this location features Bordeaux and Italian Varietals. PS The movie 'Sideways' featured this winery in one of their scenes. At the newer facility with traditional wine tasting setting has their Burgundy and Pinot featured on their menu. Foxen is known for their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that makes up half their production. My #1 choice would be their Pinot Noir, smooth with a nice bouquet. Their Pinor Noir - Julia's Vineyard is sold out during my visit, so get it next time when it's in production. Tasting rooms open daily: 11am to 4pm As of June 2013, there is a waiting list for their Anchor and Master/Commander Membership. Good news, you are able to sign up for their Compass Club Membership is free! Tasting cost $10/person/location. If you're a member, you can bring up to six guests. Overall, I fell in love with Reds all over after my visit to Foxen Vineyard. The service was absolutely amazing with knowledge and warmth. Can't wait to come back!
  • Very friendly service and interesting wines. There are actually two tasting rooms just minutes apart. We had a 2 for 1 coupon and they let us share a tasting at each location instead using both at one place. The location known as the shack poured Italian varietals and the one down the road served French style wines. This was actually the only winery we visited that included the wine glass as part of your tasting fee. Also, be sure to pick up a temporary anchor tattoo while you're there.
