#1 of 21 in Spas in New Mexico
A tribute to traditional Japanese hot spring resorts, ten thousand waves offers spas, pools, and body treatments in a garden setting. Relax in one of the facility's hot tubs, ranging from public shared ones to specialty tubs complete with waterfalls. Later, refresh yourself in the cold plunge pool. Give some relief to aching muscles with one of the available professional massages, including deep-tissue, Thai, and hot stone. Ask, too, about facials and skin treatments. The restaurant is modeled after a Japanese eatery and features traditional grilled specialties. If you're looking for a long-term stay, accommodations and private spa rooms are available, but book early. • Great natural environment with an authentic Japanese spa feel. Houses of the Moon are incredible, relaxing habitations. Be prepared for possible loud conversations and slight murky water in the grand pool, cooler water in the foot baths, but the cold pool is kept cold, which was great! For the price, it's a pretty good value. Izanami is a great, tasty way to finish off your spa visit.
  • We never miss an opportunity to visit Ten Thousand Waves when we're in Santa Fe. It's an authentic Japanese spa in a stunning location with some of the best spa services I've ever experienced. But it's not just for tourists. It's very much got a local vibe because the public pool is open to everyone, and there is always a diverse mix of visitors. Ten Thousand Waves is a calm, relaxing way to begin or end your visit to Santa Fe.
  • Never had anything but the best of the best massages and spa treatments. We live to rent a pool/hot tub. With the remodel, these are very nice private hot pools with a perhaps an invigorating cool plunge pool and a sauna. Pretty views looking at the mountain side and if it's dark, fantastic night sky. Parking is a mess. Best to park below and hike up to the spa. Please ignore the phone team, their attitudes do not reflect the excellent service of the rest of the staff.
  • Epic, remodel is lavish. I miss the wooden communal, and the clothing optional, but the new tub and sauna are great. Always impressed. Top notch spa.
  • Ten Thousand Waves is a special place. The judging is elegant and private and beautiful, with every need anticipated. The spa is exceptional. Only criticism is that they changed the policy and in any public setting you must cover your bottom and I didn't know that and went unprepared. And the restaurant is great and deliciously prepared food is the norm. All around great place worth the cost for a special occasion.

Where to stay in Santa Fe

Though the downtown area contains most of Santa Fe's finest hotels, you can find plenty of equally comfortable inns and motels just outside this busy central district. Remember also that most of the city's centrally located hotels raise their prices during the height of the tourist season, so it is essential to look for deals and make reservations well in advance. To experience the true spirit of outdoor New Mexico while on holiday, consider sleeping under the stars at a campground just a short drive from Santa Fe's major urban attractions.
