Categories: Hot Springs, Spas & Wellness, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.1/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web
A tribute to traditional Japanese hot spring resorts, Ten Thousand Waves offers spas, pools, and body treatments in a garden setting. Relax in one of the facility's hot tubs, ranging from public shared ones to specialty tubs complete with waterfalls. Later, refresh yourself in the cold plunge pool. Give some relief to aching muscles with one of the available professional massages, including deep-tissue, Thai, and hot stone. Ask, too, about facials and skin treatments. The restaurant is modeled after a Japanese eatery and features traditional grilled specialties. If you're looking for a long-term stay, accommodations and private spa rooms are available, but book early. • Two visits ago, I had an amazing massage. Last time I was there, not so much. Funny thing is that I recognized that masseuse from the gas station the night before where she was eating a corn dog. Whic...  read more »
  • An amazing destination that takes you off the grid for hours. We went full treatment, so very happy. Just sitting soaking my feet waiting to be called was peaceful.
  • This is a unique spa and a great place for a girl trip! We loved it! We all added on additional treatments. It was pretty great that they could accommodate additional services. Definitely made our tri...  read more »
  • One of the most beautiful spas in the world. The organic feel of the spaces and stunning natural setting combined with a palpable laid back vibe, make this one of the most unique "spa" experiences you'll ever have. Artisanal beauty and impeccable craftsmanship is woven into every aspect of the spa, with a special blend of eclectic elements and refined details. There really is no place like 10,000 Waves. Full disclosure, I worked at 10,000 Waves for 10 years in the 80's and 90's, but my review is more informed than biased. Today I develop spas and wellness centers as an international consultant and operator and having worked around the globe I can definitively day that 10,000 Waves is an experience that you will find no where else in the world. Worth a visit.
  • Staff and service was magnificent! Top notch, truly. Private tub was totally with it (don't skip the cold plunge). One of the most luxurious spa expenses I've ever had.
  • A little more commercialized than it used to be. Massages can be hit or miss, depending on your therapist. They are expensive so when you get a dud it's very disappointing. Private and women's tub are nice. Communal tub is a bit sketchy at times. The restaurant is fantastic and worth a trip just for dinner even without the spa.
  • Amazing. Love coming here. Therapists are very well trained, I get weekly massages in Oklahoma and when I go to Houston or other places to visit family, none compare to this place. Prices are higher but you have access to quiet meditation room, sauna , hot and cold tubs and amazing view of Santa Fe Sky Which you can't get down where Santa Fe is due to light pollution.
  • I was only there for dinner. Great views and the restaurant had nice decor. Bathrooms were very Japanese style. The menu was decent and is a new take on Japanese food, virtually nothing you would expect from a traditional Japanese restaurant. Would recommend if you are looking for something new, but would not be a good place for traditional Japanese food. Still tasty nonetheless. Extensive sake menu.
