  • This downtown branch of the library, just a block or so from the Plaza, has a real hometown feel. The staff is very helpful and the collection is varied and in good order. I especially like the magazi...  more »
  • The downtown library is full of homeless people who tie up the computers all day and evening, so that local residents and visitors have very limited access. Other parts of the library are fine; quiet ...  more »
  • Loved the Southwestern Reading Room, very elegant and tons of resources. The beautiful tables and art make it an grand place to rest and renew away from the hustle and bustle of the Plaza. It's a way ...  more »

  • We love Santa Fe's libraries, especially the children's areas. We attend storytime every week now, after graduating from Books and Babies. There are always great books and age appropriate crafts - and lots of special events for families! A great, FREE activity that we enjoy doing together.
  • TERRIBLE - after 2 hours of painstaking work on the computers getting a document ready to print, it wouldn't print, the guy working there acted like I was bothering him when trying to get him to do his job, played with his phone, halfheartedly tried to help me, didn't know what he was doing, ended up losing my work, was rude to other customers, and basically acted like he didn't care and we should stop bothering him - an extremely frustrating experience - awful place - no wonder they actually have a security guard there, because they are so bad people probably want to go postal there all the time.. I know I did
  • It's cool and has a old skool study hall but the place does have a weird bathroom smell.
  • Old school library feeling its age but plugging along and continuing to provide an excellent resource. Staff does their best with what they get. Vintage kid's reading room is blast from past.
  • Phenomenal library. The lest of its kind in New Mexico outside of the University.

Where to stay in Santa Fe

Though the downtown area contains most of Santa Fe's finest hotels, you can find plenty of equally comfortable inns and motels just outside this busy central district. Remember also that most of the city's centrally located hotels raise their prices during the height of the tourist season, so it is essential to look for deals and make reservations well in advance. To experience the true spirit of outdoor New Mexico while on holiday, consider sleeping under the stars at a campground just a short drive from Santa Fe's major urban attractions.
