Where to stay in Santa Fe

Though the downtown area contains most of Santa Fe's finest hotels, you can find plenty of equally comfortable inns and motels just outside this busy central district. Remember also that most of the city's centrally located hotels raise their prices during the height of the tourist season, so it is essential to look for deals and make reservations well in advance. To experience the true spirit of outdoor New Mexico while on holiday, consider sleeping under the stars at a campground just a short drive from Santa Fe's major urban attractions.

  • This museum and cultural center is incredibly unique and a must-see for visitors to Santa Fe and the surrounding area. As an archaeologist, I found the deeply insightful Native perspective of this museum to be a powerful reminder that there are other kinds of history that enrich our understanding of the past - and present. The ceramics returned from the Smithsonian are stunning, and the walk-through diorama exhibit just has to be experienced. Visit this place - it is well worth your time.
  • The museum was small, but wonderful. The grounds and gallery were amazing, and the staff was extremely friendly.
  • Beautiful building s but the museum is a bit bare.
  • Stop by to see artists at work and to admire the adobe and natural plaster construction.
  • Unfortunate no one really cares. Closed when their hours said otherwise. Neighbors just shook their heads as if it's a common occurrence.
