Discover the culture of Native American tribes in the American Southwest at Museum of Indian Arts & Culture. The site serves as a working laboratory where anthropologists continue to study the lives of the land's past residents, thanks to an extensive collection of artifacts. Textiles, clothing, and tools in the exhibits lend insight into cultures that blossomed in the desert's heat. Stroll the sculpture garden, where modern works by Native American artists share space with adobe structures. Visiting and temporary exhibits pass through the museum's halls throughout the year. Save your money. Few of the interactive displays worked. Displays were cheesy. Staff was was disinterested. There are better things to do on Museum Hill.

Incredible New Mexican experience! The museum presents a fantastic blend of culture, art, and history in a respectful way. I enjoyed the various video interviews and testimonies exhibited throughout the museum. Definitely worth the visit.

Where to stay in Santa Fe

Though the downtown area contains most of Santa Fe's finest hotels, you can find plenty of equally comfortable inns and motels just outside this busy central district. Remember also that most of the city's centrally located hotels raise their prices during the height of the tourist season, so it is essential to look for deals and make reservations well in advance. To experience the true spirit of outdoor New Mexico while on holiday, consider sleeping under the stars at a campground just a short drive from Santa Fe's major urban attractions.
