Where to stay in Santa Fe

Though the downtown area contains most of Santa Fe's finest hotels, you can find plenty of equally comfortable inns and motels just outside this busy central district. Remember also that most of the city's centrally located hotels raise their prices during the height of the tourist season, so it is essential to look for deals and make reservations well in advance. To experience the true spirit of outdoor New Mexico while on holiday, consider sleeping under the stars at a campground just a short drive from Santa Fe's major urban attractions.

  • great view of the city. wear your hiking boots.
  • Nice view of the surroundings. While going up you can learn quite a bit about the history of Santa Fe. Unfortunately there is o much left of fort macey.
  • You do get a sense of the Santa Fe story on this historical walkway. The trail is marked with details about Santa Fe's discovery, settlement and growth. A nice climb on a nice day with benches along the way.
  • Interesting location, great on Santa Fe. Also, can learn a little history from plates installed along the pathway.
  • Easy climb. Great view the city and surrounding area. The best part is the history plaques along the path that start with the early at the bottom and become the most recent at the top.
