  • Located in mid-county on the coast, this little museum fits into local culture and is nestled in a quiet neighborhood. Well-worth a visit to.  more »

  • All of the other reviews are right. This is a superb small museum, the staff is great and the exhibits frequently change. Apparently the schools all know it because a lot of teachers bring their classes here, even from as far away as San Jose. Be sure to look through the book and gift area. There are some excellent materials that are difficult to find anywhere, all relating to natural sights in the area.
  • this is a great little museum to take the kids. they have little touch tanks, videos, stuffed critters and an awesome staff. I LIKED
  • One of my favorite hands on museums. Always a wealth to learn and very hands on for youngsters. Passion of staff and volunteers really comes through
  • A small museum presenting the local environment and history.
  • This museum is laden with local natural history. Don't let it's small size fool you! They have exhibits covering everything from the indigenous tribes to the native animals and plants - both on land and in the bay. There is a touch tank, a fossil crate, a bone index, a wide array of native animals on display (mostly stuffed, although there are live bees in an enclosed hive, as well as a live snake), and a full room dedicated to the Ohlone people where you can learn about their traditions and history. The docents are friendly and knowledgeable, ready to answer any questions you may have. And there's a gift shop!
