Where to stay in Santa Cruz

Most of the accommodations in Santa Cruz occupy a place near the beach and boardwalk. Inns and bed and breakfasts make up most of the selection here, but you'll also find a few motels and hotels sprinkled in. You might consider staying in one of the inns or bed and breakfasts located inside some of the Victorian houses downtown, which lies just to the north. A number of budget motels line both San Lorenzo Boulevard, which is just across Carbonara Creek from the main tourist area by the beach, and Ocean Street a little farther north.

  • A good place to take kids for the activities. Interesting history and art.
  • This is one of my new favorite museums of all time. It's a small-ish museum that does double duty as both an art and a history museum but it does it well and does it in such a way as to make it look like, say, the Getty or the Guggenheim. I really mean it. The exhibits were so skilfully selected and it was just a tremendously fun time spending the evening there and I look forward to coming again.
  • Small museum with rotating exhibits. Takes about 1 hour to go through. Costs 5$ for admission, 3$ for students. They have elevators for wheelchair accessibility.
  • What a wonderful place I could spend hours there and the people are great too.
  • Nice Museum with good local art and historical information about the Santa Cruz County Area.
