Holiday World & Splashin' Safari, Santa Claus

4.6
#1 of 16 in Theme Parks in Indiana
The four sections at Holiday World & Splashin' Safari allow you to partake in amusement park rides, food, and music all themed around a different major holiday. The complex's unusual name comes from the inspiration of its host town, Santa Claus, Indiana. You can travel through areas dedicated to Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and the Fourth of July as you progress through the park, regardless of the time of year. Thrill-seekers can indulge in the three classic wooden roller coasters, a signature attraction. Don't miss the site's water park, which offers water slides, wave pools, and what's claimed to be the world's longest water coaster rides. • This was our first visit to Holiday World and we ended up having an excellent time. It started off looking rough--it was SO hot, and July 4th week is (obviously, I suppose) a super-busy time for them ...  more »
  • The roller coasters were amazing. They far exceeded expectations for this place in the rural Midwest. The waterpark could have more staff working on a weekday to keep the lines moving. Overall, it is ...  more »
  • Holiday World and Splashin' Safari is a great place for families to visit, even with young children. The park is clean and staff is always friendly. We have visited mid-week the past 6 years and the c...  more »

  • I never have a bad experience here. Every staff member is in good spirits and looks to make your experience the best possible. The rides have long lines, but that's common in an amusement park. The variety of shows is great, especially the street shows they have. Having free soft drinks and free sunscreen is definitely a money saver and shows you care about your guests' experiences. Plus, two parks on one ticket? You can't get a better deal! Not as big as Disney World, sure, but it's definitely a whole lot more affordable and fun!
  • The day started out, I was with a group of my friends, great time to say the least. Now you're wondering why is this a one star review? Let me set the scene. As soon as we got there it started raining, which wasn't Holiday Worlds fault, but it was a drag to say the least. We ended up going on the voyage. At the time it had stopped raining and the ride was being managed fine. However, as soon as we were getting on the ride, it began pouring. And I don't mean just a drizzle, it was pelting rain. The employees did not stop the ride, and we were already strapped in so there was no going back. The ride started off and it felt like I was being shot in the face due to the extreme weather conditions. A male(8) who was sitting in front of me began screaming hysterically declaring "I can't see!" and "Did something just hit me in the face!" After the ride ended I was soaked to the core and my face was red. Before we left the park we decided to go to the gift shop to remember this experience. I saw a pink pig that caught my eye and ended up purchasing it. I made polite small talk with the employee, she said she loved my pig and asked me if I bought it for my dog. I let it slip and said no I was buying it for my mother. After purchasing the pig, I was standing by the door waiting for my friends. They were talking to the same employee and bought four swords for $20. She said, and I quote,"At least you didn't buy a stupid pig like the woman in front of you." Considering I was standing right in front of her I find that this is horrible customer service. And that's just to sum it up.
  • This was an amazing trip. Great rides and the food is outstanding. The park was clean and convenient (drinks and sunscreen placed throughout). I like that the small kids area, was all contained so the older kids could go to different rides and we could keep an eye on all of them at the same time. Lines moved quickly. The staff was all very nice. We had a great time and will definitely be back!
  • We love this park. We used to live in Florida and would frequent all the major parks there, we definitely think this park compares except better. Theme park and water park all for one great low price. We are about an hour and a half away in Louisville, Ky and it is worth the drive! We have been multiple times but this year was the first time my two-year-old daughter was able to join us. She had a blast. There are so many rides, slides, and fun for her to enjoy. We can't wait to go again and make more summer memories here every year!
  • Excellent park. You would never know that some of the attractions are nearly 100 years old. Clean. Affordable. Free Pepsi and sunscreen. Staff is great and the food is the best we have ever had in a theme park. The park is clearly well loved by those who go and those who take care of it. Bring a bathing suit and flip flops for the water park portion of the park.
