  • Ulistac Natural Area is a good place to see and learn about native plants and the ancient peoples who used them in their daily lives.  more »
  • Not a place for destination, as the place is pretty small, but good for a stroll, with kids. Saw many types of birds, snails, etc.  more »
  • I love that the local neighborhood gets together with the kids to help bring awareness for keeping our natural parks clean! During spring and summer the park is filled with wildflowers in their butter...  more »

  • Ulistac is a beautiful 40 acre natural area created and maintained by volunteers. It's a relaxing place to go for a stroll and to enjoy the great variety of plants and wildlife. In the Fall and Winter, migratory birds start to attract Birders. Ulistac has often had rare bird sightings. It is also a great place to see Monarchs in all stages of life as well as a diverse variety of other butterfly species. If you prefer flowers and plant life, Ulistac has no shortage of gorgeous blooms and plants. When you walk through Ulistac, you are seeing the natural California landscape in all its glory. Other wildlife you are likely to see at Ulistac depending upon what time of year you visit are: Jackrabbits, California Quail, Northern Thrasher, Woodpeckers and Northern Flickers, several species of Hawks and other Raptors, Cedar Waxwings, Robins, Black Phoebes, Warblers, Wrens and an endless list of other bird species. They also have a Wildflower Day each year which offers free tours, live music and other entertainment. Please refer to their website or their FB page for this year's date.
  • A small natural habitat for native California plants in the middle of urban sprawl. Some amazing activity and experiences can be enjoyed here apart from just walking around. Citizen scientist to monitor the health of monarch butterflies, help propagate knowledge about native plants etc
  • Great running trail and long enough for meaningful bike rides too stretching all the way to downtown San Josè.
  • Really nice spot just off Guadalupe trail to experience California native plants and stroll about.
  • This is a nice place to visit with a semi-wild feel to it. It is largely undeveloped and there is an easy flat network of dirt paths. There is a nice garden full of native plants for pollinators. I would like to see more of the native habitat restored here.
