#2 of 25 in Parks in Santa Barbara
Shoreline Park, a long, narrow ocean-side strip of land on top of a mesa (i.e. coastal bluff), is located in Santa Barbara, California, United States. Facing the Pacific Ocean, Shoreline Park is one of Santa Barbara's most popular parks.Park FacilitiesThe park includes a playground, picnic area, a whale watching area with a telescope situated next to a statue of a large concrete whale tail, as well as a sister city Japanese garden. The park also provides a clear view of the Channel Islands on a good day, and Gray Whale may be observed during their migration months, along with a number of marine mammals including dolphins and seals.A Torii gateway atop the bluff leads to a wooden staircase descending to the tidal beach about 53ft feet below, which is completely submerged during high tide and accessible only during low tide. During the low tide periods, the adjacent Leadbetter Beach and Arroyo Burro Beach (aka Hendry's Beach) are accessible to the east and west, respectively.

  • Beautiful park to walk in. Dogs welcome if on a lead. Free parking. On a cliff overlooking the ocean. No bikes or skate boards allowed. As safe park.
  • It is a nice park above the ocean. It is clean and safe. One can walk from one end to the other over a concrete path looking at the ocean and the harbor. Sometimes one can see the dolphins frolicking in the ocean. If one is very lucky one may even see a whale. Cruise ships dock in Santa Barbara and are visible from.the park. The park has BBQ pits, tables for picnic, two very clean bathrooms and ample parking. Also, there is a nice play ground for children. Best wishes.
  • Shoreline Park is the best place did you know that there’s a playground? So I give it a five so if you want to go to Shoreline Park it’s in Santa Barbara it’s in the downtown so girl you can do that
  • A nice park with access to the beach. It is clean, walk ways to traverse the full length of the park. Beautiful views overlooking the ocean, islands. Play area for kids, lots of parking spaces, BBQ pits, benches for picnic. Restrooms were not clean. Happy exploring...
  • Bring a sweater! Shoreline park has a beautiful view from the top of Cabrillo St. looking over the Santa Barbara coast. It's a great place for long scenic walks with no sand! Theres a playground for kids and tables for picnics. Parking here is limmited on the weekends and the stalls are tight fits. Overall its perfect afternoon outings, but count on a steady breeze.
