  • An incredible historical building! Definitely worth visiting. Loved the old Spanish architecture! Great views from the top of the clock tower.
  • I just wrote a letter to my Australian friends who are planning a trip to the US and hopefully Santa Barbara, in which I praised the Courthouse as being an awesome example of the Spanish influence in ...  more »

  • Who would know justice can be so charming! A worker told us this is considered the most beautiful courthouse in America. And indeed this courthouse has a lot of characters. Must make you way up to the clock tower. The panoramic view of Santa Barbara awaits. There is even an elevator to take you up and down. And there is no admission fee.
  • Love the gorgeous Moorish/Spanish architecture. Has a beautiful view from the top of the tower. A must-see landmark in SB.
  • Beautiful 360 view of Santa Barbara! Free entrance. Beautiful garden.
  • When it comes to courthouses and my opinion of them I'd have to say that this one is the tops! I've been to a lot of courthouses so trust me when I say this one's at the top. The ones at the bottom aren't nearly as open to the photosphere I took that accompanies my thoughts or for that matter, having thoughts or thinking that I matter but before I get off track let me tell you about what matters. The Landscaping around the Magnificent Spanish influence of the building compliments majestic decor covering the inside. My first and only visit to this Courthouse where I was able to see the beyond the expensive doors was when being transported from the neighbouring holding cell across the street. Even as I was duck-walking and stumbling towards the entrance in the handcuffs and shackles my future felt swell. When the middle of the day lunch hour rush on neighboring State St. a block away collided with me and began taking selfies using my life as a backdrop I should have hid my head in shame but I didn’t. Thank four of Santa Barbaras finest escorts with guns and itchy trigger fingers for that will to be proud of where they were dragging me towards. Life didn't make a difference in the impact the building left on me and that says a lot if it says anything at all. It's scary to think I would almost not be mad at myself or find a need to break down in repentance on my knees to Joel Osteen on Sunday morning asking for absolvation. I Love Magnolias, Palm trees and a forboding police presence around every corner because I am addicted to life and all the living there is to do on this compound when in it. This is Santa Barbara if you can make it here you can make it anywhere! Sometimes you just gotta get here even if it the wrong way is what got you here be glad that your here and if you can make it here... Your either a millionaire or just another petty criminal stopped over on there way to Los Angeles.
  • Cool historical building. Walk the halls and visit the top level for great views of the city.
