  • Really enjoyed this place. Have been to Sanibel many times and go to see this every few years. Nice history of the island to get off the beach for a bit
  • I wanted to visit this historic location, but it was closed during our visit. I am sure it is a lovely stop, but I wish it was open during the "off-season" as well as when tourists over-run the island...  read more »
  • The buildings are the village and part of the museum, their history is unique. I like learning about the history of the area. This is a good destination.
  • We walked around after hours & did a free self guided tour by reading the markers at each stop. It's $10/adult, kids are free if you go while it's open. I don't think the kids would have enjoyed a paid tour as much.
  • Best to do this early in your visit to fully appreciate the island
  • The staff are local residence who love history. Go if you want to know more about the island's history and why people origionally settled it. Kids may not like this as it is just old homes with old stuff it them. Cost was $5.00, spend as much time as you like and ask as many questions as you like.
  • This is wonderful place to visit. We love history, and love learning about local history. The staff was very friendly, and really knew a lot about Sanibel history.
