Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens houses a small zoo in a tropical tree-filled setting that also features a tree-to-tree aerial course, water playground, miniature railway, and carousel. Visit the zoo and feed the giraffes, wander through the herpertarium to see reptiles and amphibians, and see the fossa, the largest predatory animal of Madagascar. In the adventure park, a zipline course runs through the tree canopy, allowing you to view the world as tree-dwelling animals do. Bring your swimsuit and cool off in the Wharton-Smith tropical splash ground. A little train takes you along a 1.6 km (1 mi) track through wetlands, woods, and a long tunnel. • It is a fairly small zoo. It did not seem to have much too it. I went there for a child's birthday. Picnic area was ok, however, the zoo seemed lacking.
  • Had a nice visit to the zoo, and reasonably priced :) Feed the giraffe for $5.00, must watch the times though, some of the exhibits / gift shop close before the zoos closing time.
  • I love the Central FL zoo - they are putting in some neat the bears. but the most fun is an Interaction with an Asian Rhino. do the encounter when you go there. It's not that expensive ...  read more »
  • I only gave it one star because there was no choice to give it no stars. For the price you pay to get in there it should take more than 45 minutes to get through the entire Zoo. No animals to look at if I want to look at frogs, snakes and things like that I'll just walk the woods behind my house it's free. Everything the kids wanted to see had a sign on it staying it was temporarily off exhibit. Just a sad-sad zoo. Very disappointing. Save your money going to a park for free was better than going to that Zoo. From start to finish it took 45 minutes. I heard more people complain then have an excitement about anything. Will never go back. There's no point in having a year pass unless you're paying to let the kids play in the water..
  • Good place for kids to be with. Although my kid enjoyed the kids water play zone more than the zoo. There is a small train joy ride at the entrance. Adults and kids both can enjoy the same. But this is outside the Zoo and not inside. A similar tram/train ride for moving inside the zoo would have been a really nice thing.
  • Very disappointed,,, for the price we expected to see alot ,they dont have many animals, its really more walking then seeing animals. Its not worth what you pay,, we walked it in a hour and thats because my 5 and 8 year old wanted to play at a little bitty so called playground they have. Very very disappointed, dont waste your money here especially if your an out of towner like us.
  • We came here for mothers day with our 3 yr old daughter and you would have thought that because they were so busy they would have had more stuff out. I was very disappointed in how much we had to pay and how little we got to see. There was NO WHERE to get a drink, found ONE vending machine and it was out of everything except Dr.Pepper and Mt. Dew- I am not a big soda drinker and it was SOOO HOT all I wanted was water and that was impossible to find. Every hut I saw that usually would sell drinks/snacks etc was CLOSED and said it was only opened on weekends...last I checked SUNDAY is part of the weekend, but whatever. Also, they had a petting zoo with NO animals out! There were hardly no animals and absolutely no shows going on. It was very disappointing and I will never be going back.
  • Brought my grandchildren here on a very hot sunny day, and rented a stroller which was in very poor condition and repair, the sun shade was broken and there was mold and mildew all over the cloth part of the stroller. didn't realize the sun shade didn't work until a few hours later when I actually needed to use it. Left the zoo early because it was too hot for the grandchildren and spoke to the manager there who was unwilling to return my $8 rental fee and offered little to no concern for the situation even though I told her we had to cut the day short. She offered to give us a different stroller, but by this time the children were so hot and aggravated and so was I, so we declined. you would think that before they actually issue a stroller to a paying customer, that they would check to make sure it was in proper working order and clean. Unfortunately this was not the case . I will not go back due to poor customer service, not to mention there weren't many animals outside of their enclosures within the fence, I'm sure due to the scorching heat of the day.... not a fun day at all.
