Heritage Museums & Gardens offers landscaped gardens, walking trails, galleries, sculpture, and more. Stroll around the public gardens, which cover 40.5 hectares (100 acres), and see the rhododendrons, a legacy of former owner Charles O. Dexter, who was a celebrated rhododendron hybridizer. Visit the automobile gallery to view the museum's permanent collection of antique and classic cars, including a 1909 white steam car model M that was owned by President William Taft. Head to the American art and carousel gallery to ride one of the antique, hand-carved horses that adorn the 1908 carousel. Grab a bite to eat at the Magnolia Cafe or bring a picnic to enjoy on the grounds. To visit Heritage Museums & Gardens on your trip to Sandwich, use our Sandwich travel route planner.

Cars, flowers, history, and toys, something at this pace for everyone. Sit in a model T, ride a carousel, play games, smell the flowers. Fun visit and staff was welcoming and helpful.

A beautiful garden with some interesting exhibits like a gorgeous old carousel. Definitely a great day out for the family. Bit pricey at $20 per adult ticket, but what on Cape Cod is not pricey?

Over 20 years visiting Cape Cod each summer and only found this beautiful garden recently. Well maintained with easy to follow paths and markers throughout. A bit of up and down hills so caution if anyone with walking assistance needed - but they provide a golf cart taxi service throughout with very friendly and helpful staff. They are part of various reciprocal programs so check out for free entry options if you belong to any horticultural groups for example. Our children had a great time exploring with lots of things to explore in addition to beautiful open running spaces. The carousel was a highlight!
Beautiful gardens, an impressive car museum, an innovative childrens' activity area with a multi-level tree house, native American home, cute little restaurant, and even a classic carousel the Heritage Gardens has something for everyone. It's super easy to get tickets on line... the thing we didn't (initially) appreciate is that if you purchase two one time visit tickets, you can apply that payment against a season's pass for two. For an additional 31 bucks you can visit as often as you want... They even give you additional tickets for friends along with other benefits. Great place. Great price. Great membership deals. Go!
Plenty of space to park. The bathrooms were easily accessible. We brought 3 kids ages 2, 5 and 10... all of them equally satisfied. So much for the kids to enjoy! We absolutely loved this place!! A must see if you're visiting Cape Cod.
It was more than what I expected. What a lovely hidden treasure. It meant a lot to see most of the flowers and plants were marked. The water features added to the serenity and experience. The cafe was also lovely. I would drive the 7 hours from Pennsylvania just to visit again.
It was a beautiful day to visit Heritage Museum and Gardens. Lots of flowers in bloom and while it got warm there is plenty of shade. This is definitely a place that you can. Is it multiple times and find something new every time. The car museum was amazing! Loves seeing all the cars so close. They change the cars out so want to go back and see the ones that were hiding in the garage. My only warning is that you need to bring water with you. If you get thirsty on the trails your are out of luck. The water fountains are closed down.
