Where to stay in Sandusky

Most of the accommodations in Sandusky are clustered around Castaway Bay to the east of downtown. From here, it's a quick drive up to Cedar Point Amusement Park, and you'll find plenty of hotels, motels, and campgrounds. Some establishments offer packages that include tickets to the park. The options in the historical downtown remain more limited, but a couple of charming inns and bed and breakfasts take you away from the bustle of the places that accommodate park-goers. Regardless of where you choose to stay, make reservations as far in advance as possible if you plan to visit during summer.

  • Firelands Winery is a MUST TASTE place. The wines are amazing and the staff is phenomenal. Candy and company always take great care of us. With the added outdoor space, bocce court and new addition of the Exposition Kitchen, it keeps getting better each year.
  • Wonderful place to visit. We did a valentine weekend tour and indulged in several samplings, wonderful food pairings, and a very boisterous atmosphere! Well worth the money to try and made sure we bought several bottles to bring home and enjoy with friends!!
  • This was one of our stops on our spontaneous Lake Erie Winery Tour. We're so glad we stopped out. The staff was very knowledgeable and courteous. We loved the cozy sitting areas to relax and drink our wine. We're looking forward to coming out again!
  • 99 cents for the grape juice for our daughter... even we did not order it :/ it is for the first time I paid for the grape juice in a winery.
  • quirky place that needs some polish, but otherwise a really nice place with unusual and tasty wines.
