  • Food is amazing, but the group running this does not run the restaurant very well. First of all the are understaffed. The first time we came in, we only wanted some drinks at the bar. MANY people were waiting to be seated and the restaurant was less than half full. It took some negotiating and three promises that we did not want food and would buy our drinks at the bar for us to be allowed to have a table (in the bar). We came in the next day, wanting lunch. This time it looked more promising. Nobody waiting and less people seated. Once again - refused to seat. Comments were that they needed to be sure that the kitchen was not overloaded and that the table had a server. This was 1 PM - prime lunchtime. Our food was all very good, the grilled cheese was amazing. If it wasn't for the difficulties getting a table and the crabby bartender, I would give it 5 stars for Cedar Point fare.
  • So much fun! Aside from all the rides, we caught a show, which was surprisingly excellent. Visited the sweet shop, which was very clean and the young lady from Ireland was so wonderful and patient with my daughter. All around really fun for our family! The bathrooms were stellar for the amount of people- I was surprised. This is definitely on our return trip list!
  • I have been going to Cedar Point since I was a kid and now that I have my own kids we visit every year! We live about 5 miles away from King's Island, but prefer Cedar Point! The roller coasters, Millennium Force is my favorite, are awesome and the family rides (so much better than King's Island) are great for those who don't enjoy coasters such as my twelve year old, plus there are so many to choose from. We love being by the lake and if you can manage to luck out and go on a slower day when wait times aren't as long it is fantastic! Definitely worth it!
  • Incredible park for the coaster and thrill ride lover, more coasters than anywhere in the states and maybe the world. Long lines for the most popular rides, but that wasn't unexpected. To avoid the lines, you can pay an additional $108 for the Fast Pass option. That wasn't in the cards for our family of 6 over our two days($1296!) but if you only have one day at the park and want to fit in as many rides as possible, I would definitely consider it.
  • Awesome fun for the whole family. The lines were not bad, and they were worth the fun of the coasters. Also, the view of Lake Erie was so pretty, especially on the Ferris wheel. Now that was cool. A lot like six flags though, so Fun! Worth your money.

Where to stay in Sandusky

Most of the accommodations in Sandusky are clustered around Castaway Bay to the east of downtown. From here, it's a quick drive up to Cedar Point Amusement Park, and you'll find plenty of hotels, motels, and campgrounds. Some establishments offer packages that include tickets to the park. The options in the historical downtown remain more limited, but a couple of charming inns and bed and breakfasts take you away from the bustle of the places that accommodate park-goers. Regardless of where you choose to stay, make reservations as far in advance as possible if you plan to visit during summer.
