  • This is one of my favorite state parks with some great hiking trails and the river is beautiful. Great place to get away from the Twin Cities without driving hours.
  • Great state park! One of my favorites. The camps are more secluded and away from the high way and have always been very clean. There is a lot of options for hiking, not great for kids under 5 for the trails by the river. If you want to swim there are a lot of large rocks you can set up and swim off of. But be warned it is the river and to get a good spot you'll nees to clime and be physically fit to get to a good snad bar or slab of rock. The waterfall is great too.
  • This can be one of the best and worst parks in Minnesota. Banning is a very beautiful park! I've also been here when the mosquitos could almost lift you off the ground. I'd bring bring bug spray just in case. Lots of wooded trails to explore. Have fun!
  • People want to get out into the wilderness in MN. Go camping, hiking etc. in our state parks. Our stay at Banning was completely spoiled by the unbelievable amount of MOSQUITOES! ! ! You could not go out, even with repellent on, without the aggressive, non stop vicious attacks. Seriously DNR, if you want the revenue from state parks, SPRAY FOR MOSQUITOES! ! ! We left early, wasting one of our overnight camping fees just because we could not go outside.
  • Good Park. Beautiful Trails. Lots of Fun for the whole Family. Don't pay attention to No GMO's. All that person does is gives 1 stars out. This is a nice park to visit if your around :)
  • Very nice hiking trails through the woods and by the river. Interesting quarry history. The camp site I was at was pretty well hidden from neighboring sites, providing a reasonable amount of privacy.
