In the era of gigantic superstores where scanners and self check-out systems have become the norm and the customer has become nothing more than a number on a profit and loss statement, LJB Farms has remained virtually untouched from the day that Luigi Bonino first set foot on the fertile San Martin soil nearly a century ago.

Nothing at LJB Farms is force-ripened or frozen. Nothing at LJB Farms gets stored in some air-tight warehouse freezer room in order to slow or stop the ripening process for future profits.

At LJB farms, it’s all about harvesting when Mother Nature says so, which is why the fruits and vegetables that come out of the old barn on Fitzgerald Avenue in San Martin are as memorable as grandma’s hot apple pie and as fresh as a home-grown garden.

LJB operates from June 15th to December 24th.

  • We returned to LJB farms in Morgan Hill in June. The summer vegetables and fruits were out. We purchased some very good fruit. Service was good. We liked seeing the resident dog again too.

  • Fresh local produce, a friendly old dog who loves kids. A good way to let kids shake their wiggles out and choose healthy snacks for themselves. Gifts are also on hand. Juice to sample. Local honey...

  • LJB Farms is my favorite local farm stand. They always seem to have a nice selection and sell a lot of local produce. Prices are better than supermarkets in the region. For 2021 the summer corn was six for a dollar and later in the season five for a dollar. They typically have white corn, yellow corn, and bicolor corn. All three varieties are very fresh and sweet.
  • Not much produce available compared to other visits. Many of the fruits were starting to spoil. Also, be aware that for many fruits and vegetables, you can only choose a prepackaged bag. The best item I purchased was the Dutch apple pie in their refrigerator section. Very little corn. They said to come back in 3 weeks. Oh, well.
  • May be we coming in to the farm not in the season for strawberries, they have only name brand berries for sale. May not be the local grow one. But they have many different vegetable to select, but the price are high. I guess this is also serve as a "local" grocery store for the locals. We bought some oranges and walnuts only. Can't find the local strawberries we are looking for which is really in season when we visited.
  • I love this farm. You can find variety of fruit and vegetables year round in each season. The strawberries are the sweetest. For those that like fresh corn, you won’t be disappointed. I’ve also discovered, the corn tortilla chips there are really tasty. If you are travel south of 101, don’t forget to stop by.
  • Had some fun Ohana time at LJB Farms. The pumpkins are all set up and they had a great selection. Not sure if it is all pumpkins or we just had about the same size for each one, but they were $6 each. Not bad at all. Cute little set ups around the area for fun pics. Not too crowded either. Don't forget your mask & have fun!
