  • What a treat to visit this beautiful garden oasis in Pasadena. I have been living in LA for all my life, this probably only my fifth times here. I should have visited this place more often as not too....  more »

  • What a fantastic gem to visit in the San Gabriel Valley because this place has a lot of history. Henry and Arabella Huntington left a legacy for future generations to enjoy and I'm truly grateful for all the artwork and the beautiful gardens. When you decide to visit, it's almost like you're stepping through a time machine because you get a glimpse of how the past was like based on certain individuals and the way they decide to portray their memories in their artwork is phenomenal. I honestly come here primarily for the artwork and analyzing as much details as I can based off of an educator point of view. Don't let the steep price deter you from visiting but if you must know, they provide free tickets on the first day of the month. Just know that you have to get tickets a month in advance for the following month on their website.
  • One of the best places in LA! Always feel relaxed and peaceful after spending a day walking around the gardens. If you need an escape to nature that is not one of LA's crowded hiking trails, highly recommend. Membership is also a great deal if you're local.
  • Have been going here for years. After getting your ticket check out the Orientation Gallery to get the lay of the land and plan your day. Next to this is the library Exhibits building with the Gutenberg bible and other rare books. After walking through this building, head south for the European art building for Blue Boy and other European masters. Then North to the American art building. Out doors the Botanical Center is west of the entrance. Further west is the Chinese Garden, then south to the Japanese garden. Then back east through the other garden areas. Food is available at the Red Car Cafe and the 1919 diner at the entrance. There is also a Dumpling House in the Chinese garden area. This time we went for the Corpse Flower.. Amazing sight.
  • Awesome place to visit. The gardens are beautiful and a breathtaking place to take a leisurely walk or just sitting down to relax. You can take a stroll though the gardens or check out the antiques and marvelous paintings available on the house and gallery tours. You can also visit the special exhibit hall and galleries. The library exhibition hall contains some remarkable works and highlights from the Huntington Library collection featuring rare books such as the Gutenberg Bible and spectacular manuscripts. The gardens are a wonderful place to take a stroll with your family. In particular, the Rose and Children’s garden are a wonderful place to visit. Be sure to take your kids to the Conservatory which features tropical plants and Orchids, an interactive science center, rain forest, and cloud forest with exhibits and virtual tours for the kids. Lastly, don’t forget to visit the Japanese garden featuring a Japanese house, ceremonial teahouse, and Bonsai collection. You’ll want to visit the Chinese garden featuring a water, rock, and plant area that takes you through the Chinese traditions and culture. The Huntington Library is a must see in you’re here on vacation for a short time or just want to get out of the busy city to relax. Getting to the facility is an easy drive from the 210 freeway and Allen Ave. Thumbs up and a must see for Pasadena.
  • Wow, what a place! Definitely a must for anyone in the area, and anyone visiting. The entirety of the gardens are worth viewing, with an incredible attention to detail and lovely walkways. Checking out the library is a must, and everyone should see the Gutenberg Bible. There's loads of activity places for kids, and there's no shortage of parking. And there's cafes here! It's got it all. The architecture alone is worth it.
