  • We are members and come a few times a month. It's a fun place for little kids to get out of the house and work off some energy. There are 3 floors. The first is more suited to ages 6+, the second for younger and the top floor for toddlers. The second floor has a kitchen, fire truck, stage, doctor's office and more with costumes too. It's great for pretend play. The bathrooms are all the large single bathroom variety and they are on every floor. They don't have kid sized toilets, but they do have step stools. There is also an outside play area.
  • We've been three times over a twenty year span with family and kids. The last time before this in 2004. My how it has changed, and not necessarily for the better. The original museum was chock full of interactive exhibits. So much so that it took a few hours to even see everything, let alone get yours hands on it. The museum now reminds me of a not to be named pizza entertainment franchise. Yes, it's very organized and family friendly, but very generic, and I want to say, a product showcase for a whole new "kids museum industry". The one in Monterey is eerily similar, but on a smaller scale. Almost like it's a chain operation. I miss the hodgepodge and funkiness of the old one. We saw everything on two floors (the third is for kids four and under) in about an hour and it set us back $48 for two kids, three adults and a senior citizen. Much better entertainment/educational value for the money is to be found at other places in my opinion.
  • I have been here many times with my children. We always had a great time. Lots to do and see. If you live in the area and find yourself downtown a lot is with it to get a pass.
  • Wonderful. Two boys 6 and 8
  • Are you in SLO with kids and need to pass some time? The Children’s Museum is the place to go! There are 3 levels of activities (3rd floor ages 4 and under) and an outdoor area. The activities rotate, and the staff are constantly patrolling and keeping things in order for all the kids. The staff is also really nice. If you live in the area, I recommend a membership!
