  • Great place for a stop or snack before or after lunch. The coffee and oncapuccino are very good and the price is perfect. The hot sandwiches are great and fits for two people, they are large. It is always crowded but people serve very well and are all friendly.
  • Free public restrooms are located outside of the actual warming hut in between two other small buildings. A welcome sight on the trail. The ultimate club sammie is yummy. Lots of small area themed gifts and books. Limited indoor seating but lots of outdoor benches, grass space, etc to sit and snack.
  • Selection of good is reasonable, but there is insufficient staff to cater for the weekend crowd and you can easily wait more than 20 minutes for a full of tea. On there plus side, there are inside tables and a decent selection of cakes and pastries. In busy times, you may have to eat outside in the park.
  • Nice little souviners shop that also offers great warm and cold food, as well as cold and hot beverages. The friendly staff also recommended the cookies, which were just perfect. Some seats also have views of the Golden Gate Bridge, in case you can't get enough of it.
  • Very good mocha. Normally a black coffee drinker, but opted for something else. Could taste the coffee, wasn't too sweet. Beats Starbucks. Will be back. Prices are on par with the rest of SF. Customer service was a bit lacking.

Where to stay in San Francisco

From inexpensive hostels in quiet residential areas to high-end hotels near the city center, San Francisco has accommodations for every budget. Key consideration is what kind of neighborhood you want to stay in. You'll find luxury hotels in Union Square, which has prime shopping, is near theaters, and is on the cable car line. Many hotels are in the northeastern portion of the city, near the tourist-driven neighborhoods of Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf, both easily explored on foot. To get away from the tourist crowds, consider the smaller inns and family-run bed and breakfasts in some of the city's more charming neighborhoods, such as Noe Valley or Pacific Heights. There are also boutique hotels scattered around town. Avoid staying in the Tenderloin. If you plan to have a car with you, ask about parking availability and fees. Parking is often difficult and expensive.
