Twin Peaks, San Francisco

Lookout · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Admire a spectacular view of San Francisco from Twin Peaks. Located 20 minutes from the city center, the park features two of the highest points in San Francisco and is a well-known escape from the buzz of the city, where visitors can enjoy a tranquil walk or picnic with sprawling views of the Bay Area from 281 m (922 ft) up. Be sure to pack a jacket, as the area is known for windy conditions. See Twin Peaks and all San Francisco has to offer by arranging your trip with our San Francisco trip planning site.

  • This MUST be done on a clear day. If its cloudy or rainy it will take away the enjoyment. We had an overcast day and could barely see the golden gate bridge. But it was still worth it because the...  more »
  • We were so lucky, on our last day in SF we got to go to Twin Peaks and the weather was perfect! No fog just clear skies and beautiful views of the entire city. It’s FREE, no need to pay for a tour...  more »
  • Warning!!! We were there less than 20 min and our rental car back windows were smashed and the thugs attempted to steal our suitcases. Thank goodness a passing car beeped it’s horn and scared them.....  more »

  • Spectacular view! Crowded, but you'd expect that, it's a lookout point in San Francisco.. it'll attract everyone. It was real nice. We drove up to the very top but I know some people hike or bike. The car parked next to us got broken in to... so be aware of leaving valuables in the car. It was crazy that it happened RIGHT there, people all around.. so heads up.
  • This was our second time here and we loved and enjoyed it just like the first time. It’s very windy and cold up there so make sure to layer up. I would recommend doing this drive or hike on your first day since it’s outside SF’s main attractions and if you don’t go it first you might run out of time.
  • Worth the visit for spectacular 360 degree views. Excellent views of downtown. Really helps to appreciate the size of the city and Bay Area as a whole. You can see golden gate park as well as the bridge, and across the bay. There’s a bus route (I forget the number) that will take you right to the foot of the peaks. Very windy up there so take a jacket. There are bathrooms.
  • Tourist spot with full panoramic view of San Francisco. You can walk or drive to the viewing deck. You won't need to spend a whole lot of time up there, snap a few photos take in the scenery, hike around a bit & that's pretty much it. Oh yeah keep your head on a swivel, quite a few tourists get mugged up there. Enjoy
  • Worth the visit. Beautiful view of the city and whatnots. You can also do some walking from the top to the ground. A must see in San Francisco city. I totally recommend as the top things to do while in SF.
