It is one of San Francisco's 44 hills, and one of its original "Seven Hills".LocationThe San Francisco Chronicle defines the Chinatown, North Beach, and Telegraph Hill areas as bounded by Sacramento Street, Taylor Street, Bay Street, and the water.The neighborhood is bounded by Vallejo Street to the south, Sansome Street to the east, Francisco Street to the north and Powell Street and Columbus Avenue to the west, where the southwestern corner of Telegraph Hill overlaps with the North Beach neighborhood.

  • Telegraph Hill is located near the financial district and Embarcadero. Climbing to the top of the Hill, we saw a beautiful panorama of the city and Bay. On the Hill stands the Coit Tower. Inside it, you can see the interesting murals on the walls, depicting life in California during the great depression. The elevator we went up to the observation deck of the tower and made wonderful pictures of the Bay and the city.

  • Weekdays you can drive all the way to the top. Every day you can drive up Union to near the top and there is 2 hour street parking. Even if you don't want to go up Coit Tower, the views up here are am...  more »
  • If you try to walk... I advise you to take it with a lot... calm enough water and patience. The place is complicated by the streets with impossible angles... THE Tower has a small elevator and you'll have a few minutes to see and photograph in all directions through windows. Recommended
