  • The Red Blossom has long been one of our favorite tea shops in Chinatown. On our last visit, they wanted $30 per person for a tea tasting session. Not sure how well that is going to fly over time.  more »
  • They offer a great selection of teas and want to make sure you leave with one you really like. If you aren't sure where to start, ask one of the workers and they'll guide you through the different var...  more »
  • Beautiful store. Though it is in full Chinatown has nothing of folklore, indeed looks minimalist and modern style. In addition to selling dozens of different types of tea, organize a demonstration/tasting of three different types of tea, during which explains the characteristics of different types of tea, according to the Chinese region of origin. The girl holding the demonstration is very competent and explains clearly. Also the Teas that are offered in the tasting are great. For each offer three small cups. The whole show is very interesting and the dimostratrice responds comprehensively to the questions. I asked if all tea drinking does not suffer from insomnia and said she now suffer from insomnia if they drank! We then made purchases of different kinds of tea. Absolutely a must!

  • Stopped in to get some tea for a friend as a gift..The atmosphere was calm and relaxed. So many fantastic smelling teas..The gentleman that was working (forgot his name, I'm horrible with names) was very helpful and offered me some tea they had recently brewed while I browsed..very knowledgeable staff as well.. apparently the owners still source the tea themselves which is amazing.. I haven't tried very many Chinese teas, but I'll definitely be back to try some of their tea soon..So fun!
  • Very informative staff. Great prices. They have a good website and can ship quickly
  • Excellent loose-leaf teas. One of my go-to tea vendors. I recommend the Honey Orchid Oolong.
  • Staff who are really passionate and knowledgeable about tea make this shop a pleasure to visit. The tea on sale is high quality too; be aware, though, that the goods on offer are pretty primo price wise. I was only able to afford two of the cheapest, and they were expensive; fortunately, they're lovely to drink, so no complaints.
  • Amazing place with a great selection of quality tea. This place is defiantly more for tourists than for those who live in China town. It had a beautiful set up, tea educated staff fluent in English who help you select teas you would be interested in rather than harass you into buying tea you don't want. They have tasting of tea you are intersected in purchasing and gift sets. I would definitely come back next time I'm in San Francisco!

Where to stay in San Francisco

From inexpensive hostels in quiet residential areas to high-end hotels near the city center, San Francisco has accommodations for every budget. Key consideration is what kind of neighborhood you want to stay in. You'll find luxury hotels in Union Square, which has prime shopping, is near theaters, and is on the cable car line. Many hotels are in the northeastern portion of the city, near the tourist-driven neighborhoods of Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf, both easily explored on foot. To get away from the tourist crowds, consider the smaller inns and family-run bed and breakfasts in some of the city's more charming neighborhoods, such as Noe Valley or Pacific Heights. There are also boutique hotels scattered around town. Avoid staying in the Tenderloin. If you plan to have a car with you, ask about parking availability and fees. Parking is often difficult and expensive.
