3.8/5 based on 35+ reviews on the web
The prestigious Presidio golf course opened for public play in 1895 and has quickly gained a reputation as one of the nation's top public courses. Located just minutes from downtown San Francisco, this 18-hole course plays 6,500 yards of challenging golf winding through beautiful Eucalyptus and Monterey Pine trees in The City's trademark hills.

Designed with tight fairways and strategically placed bunkers, this 18-hole "hilly" golf course offers a unique challenge for golfers of all abilities. Orginally designed by Robert Wood Johnstone, the course was expanded in 1910 by Johnstone in collaboration with Wiliam McEwan and redesigned and lengthened in by the British firm of Fowler & Simpson in 1921.

  • First time here. Very challenging course. The entire course is played on a hill so you are almost never hitting on flat ground. Lots of trees so even though not the longest course, a challenge for any...  read more »

  • Hey Brian FLynn; your'e a dick. This is a good course. Do you give away your business services? Do you have any value to give?
  • An old, historic, traditional tree lined golf course. Number two and four are stunners, but many holes can be categorized as such, too. Really tight golf course where you have to think about which club to use off the tee. The fairways are lined by huge, tall trees that are synonymous to San Francisco. Fees are expensive (after all, it is San Francisco), but the course is so beautiful and with the San Francisco views you don't think for one second that you've overpaid. A real treat whenever you may be in the San Francisco area.
  • The course was in good shape, but there are too many blind shots. The staff was as rude as I've ever experienced. The worst part of the day was the carts and their awful GPS, which will only run at 2mph starting at 150yds out. I understand regulating cart use w in 75-100 yards, but 150 is unreasonable. The carts would also stop working at completely random areas of the course, saying that the area was 'restricted.' Total joke. So many better options around.
  • Beautiful, well maintained golf course located right in the city. They have twilight rates if you want to just get a few holes in before sunset.
  • Nice enough course. Every ranger I encountered was kind of a prick though. Hide your beers. Make sure everyone has their own clubs, or that will be $50, sir.
