  • The Hippies used to be here, but no longer. It's just a great park and provides nice views for the residential neighborhoods on either side. Good architecture.  more »

  • Fuchsia Dell is of the first quiet green spaces you encounter on the eastern side of Golden Gate Park. Follow Hayes Street until it ends at Stanyan, cross the street and head west one block on the paved path and look for the sign announcing the dell. Coast redwoods and other trees shade little coves and grassy expanses dotted with green park benches. There's even a sundial in the first grassy area on the right as you enter the dell. A number of flowers will delight your eyes, especially the purple, pink and red fuchsias that give this area its name. Continuing walking west and you'll find yourself at the Conservatory of Flowers.
