  • If you like markets already is a good reason to come and since, take advantage and eat at some of the many places that there is and that it could do at a good price

  • There are other Farmer's Markets in the city, such as at the Ferry Building, but I feel you get the better price at this one. If you go closer to closing time, you can get even bigger bargains. A wide...  more »
  • If you like outdoor markets, this is the one with lots of exotic produce, mostly from nearby gardens. Some prepared foods as well. Popular with the locals.  more »

  • Always a fun time at this market. The crowd is always lively and the produce is fresh, good and inexpensive. I'm here almost every Sunday to pick up the latest in season produce for dinner and the week ahead. There are stands with already prepared items also, along with seating to enjoy it.
  • Open year round with great vendors supplying ultra fresh seasonal produce. Get to know everyone by name and you'll realize what farm to table means.
  • Fresh farm produce @ heart of the downtown. Isn't that cool.
  • Smaller farmers market than some others in the city but it has everything you need at pretty reasonable prices. The vendors all have been very nice and answered any of my questions
  • This is my least favorite farmers market in the city due to a mix of too many homeless and drug users loidering about. This farmers market has become 1/2 produce and now 1/2 food trucks for lunch crowds. They should rebrand this location as such.

Where to stay in San Francisco

From inexpensive hostels in quiet residential areas to high-end hotels near the city center, San Francisco has accommodations for every budget. Key consideration is what kind of neighborhood you want to stay in. You'll find luxury hotels in Union Square, which has prime shopping, is near theaters, and is on the cable car line. Many hotels are in the northeastern portion of the city, near the tourist-driven neighborhoods of Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf, both easily explored on foot. To get away from the tourist crowds, consider the smaller inns and family-run bed and breakfasts in some of the city's more charming neighborhoods, such as Noe Valley or Pacific Heights. There are also boutique hotels scattered around town. Avoid staying in the Tenderloin. If you plan to have a car with you, ask about parking availability and fees. Parking is often difficult and expensive.
