Fort Mason Center, San Francisco
Categories: Marinas, Art Museums, Museums, Nature & Parks
Part of the National Park system, Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture was founded in 1977 as part of the newly formed Golden Gate National Recreation Area as a place for the community to come together for all things art, culture, and food -- visit one of the museums or galleries, host a festival or wedding, attend a class or conference, stroll along the water, fish from the piers, or enjoy a bite and cup of coffee at Greens, Goody Cafe, Cooks & Company or grab a drink at The Interval. Shop the Sunday farmers' market, and definitely check out the largest food truck gathering in the U.S.: Off the Grid, which happens on Fridays between April-October.To visit Fort Mason Center on your holiday in San Francisco, and find out what else San Francisco has to offer, use our San Francisco trip itinerary builder.

I have lived near San Francisco my entire life, and I have never known about Fort Mason. It is a beautiful property, and if you ever have an opportunity to either attend or host an event at the Reside... read more »
This is the place to eat! This place is fun and you will be overwhelmed by the different authentic cuisines here. My favorite truck was the gyro stop simply because i love me some greek food!
カリフォルニ... read more »Food truck event so I went. Art & Culture Center at the Google Map images were great, but actually the converted warehouse. (The Park is located next to the main art & culture center), was lined with American, Mexican, Hawaiian, Filipino, Japanese, Korean and international cuisine food truck event was held in the parking lot of Fort Mason. Area fenced in California has banned drinking in public places, but that's ALRIGHT to drink. Come DJ, nice fun time with friends.show original
Good place for hosting events in San Francisco given the limited land area available. Has a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Halls are large and provide a good environment. Great place for Off The Grid, but parking isn't ideal. Better to take public transit.
Beautiful views going but could be kept better. The term "Fort" is a bit deceiving. A cool statue of a congressman and What I think is a native woman. Worth a walk up if you have time.
Great place to get a variety of ways, especially on Off the Grid days. Great place for events. Take public transportation or on-demand. If you have to drive, especially on weekends, park in the Marina Green lot and walk in. Enjoy!
Wonderful arts and cultural center! Great views along the waterfront near Crissy Fields and the Marina. Also, try out there farmers market and Off the Grid events.
I was here thrice for Off the Grid SF on Friday nights from 5pm. Windy place so bring your jackets! Apart from that, the atmosphere and ambience was awesome. Very spacious!
