Fort Mason Center, San Francisco

(4.3/5 based on 95+ reviews on the web)
Part of the National Park system, Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture was founded in 1977 as part of the newly formed Golden Gate National Recreation Area as a place for the community to come together for all things art, culture, and food -- visit one of the museums or galleries, host a festival or wedding, attend a class or conference, stroll along the water, fish from the piers, or enjoy a bite and cup of coffee at Greens, Goody Cafe, Cooks & Company or grab a drink at The Interval. Shop the Sunday farmers' market, and definitely check out the largest food truck gathering in the U.S.: Off the Grid, which happens on Fridays between April-October.

  • GREAT produce! The home made bread booth is fantastic, and the fresh seafood, salmon and fish booth is good too! Try the freshly made Asian dumplings or the booth that has breakfast burritos.....all delicious!
  • Small, but descent market with a few unique vendors
  • Fantastic food street market (I did found it on Sunday)
  • They have fantastic produce here. Parking can be difficult if there's other events going on in one of the buildings. Usually I'm one of these who's there to attend the Chocolate Salon or another event, but it never stops me from popping my head in to gets some flowers or veggies and grab a bite to eat. The Roti roasted chicken and rosemary potatoes is a must.
  • Bit small but it works
