  • Very nice Farmer's Market on Saturday's set up on the plaza outside the Ferry Building Marketplace. Lots of food tents, obviously very popular with tourists and locals alike.  more »

  • Definitely one of the best farmers markets in the Bay Area. They have so many great, local vendors with fresh produce and goods like granola and ice cream. It’s easily accessible by Bart and Muni as well. It’s a great spot for Saturday morning shopping or Thursday afternoon lunch for those who work in FiDi.
  • I've been here twice and had some of the BEST FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!! IT'S ALSO SO CUTE!!!! RIGHT UNDER THE BRIDGE! WISH I COULD BE THERE NOW.
  • It's getting cold, but the Market is still the best place for organic fresh and local produce. Bundle up and come on down.
  • The best place to get in-season local and organic produce! But remember to pace yourself, because it can get a little overwhelming with so many vendors. We love to pick up fresh oysters from the Hog Island stand to shuck ourselves.
  • Cheap and wonderful organic produce! Everyone is so helpful and informative. I love to visit on the weekend and fill up my fridge with fresh produce for the week!

Where to stay in San Francisco

From inexpensive hostels in quiet residential areas to high-end hotels near the city center, San Francisco has accommodations for every budget. Key consideration is what kind of neighborhood you want to stay in. You'll find luxury hotels in Union Square, which has prime shopping, is near theaters, and is on the cable car line. Many hotels are in the northeastern portion of the city, near the tourist-driven neighborhoods of Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf, both easily explored on foot. To get away from the tourist crowds, consider the smaller inns and family-run bed and breakfasts in some of the city's more charming neighborhoods, such as Noe Valley or Pacific Heights. There are also boutique hotels scattered around town. Avoid staying in the Tenderloin. If you plan to have a car with you, ask about parking availability and fees. Parking is often difficult and expensive.
