  • ...,but a bit third-world-like. The park is just beyond the dirt mound that used to be Candlestick Park stadium. The bay views from park are great. Parking is easy, and there are even picnic tables. T...  more »
  • They really need to repave the roads getting to and around the park areas. I have heard this referred to as California's 1st Urban State recreation area and in the next 3-4 years it will be one of onl...  more »
  • Wonderful place for history. Usually on the cool side so dress with that in mind. We found taking our lunch and hanging out was the best.  more »

  • Easy trails. Neat, interactive art installments. Decent amount of parking, picnic areas, circuit exercise equipment.
  • Beautiful views, nice area to spend the day. Park rangers are all very nice and helpful here.
  • There has been a large pool of water sitting in the walking trail for weeks next to the Harney Way, opposite to the Executive Park office building. Not sure if it is a water pipe leakage. Hope it will be fixed soon. It seems that parking lot is also a popular spot for illegal garbage dumping. People also clean cars there leaving litters on the ground instead of garbage cans there. CCTV cams or frequent policing ?
  • The stellar bird watching and views are only slightly diminished by a somewhat shady feel that makes it seem like it's not a good idea to come here alone.
  • I wanted to take my dog to a new park, but after making the drive out and driving up to the entrance I saw everything was dry. My girl is a foxtail magnet so we didn't even bother parking and went to another greener park.

Where to stay in San Francisco

From inexpensive hostels in quiet residential areas to high-end hotels near the city center, San Francisco has accommodations for every budget. Key consideration is what kind of neighborhood you want to stay in. You'll find luxury hotels in Union Square, which has prime shopping, is near theaters, and is on the cable car line. Many hotels are in the northeastern portion of the city, near the tourist-driven neighborhoods of Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf, both easily explored on foot. To get away from the tourist crowds, consider the smaller inns and family-run bed and breakfasts in some of the city's more charming neighborhoods, such as Noe Valley or Pacific Heights. There are also boutique hotels scattered around town. Avoid staying in the Tenderloin. If you plan to have a car with you, ask about parking availability and fees. Parking is often difficult and expensive.
