I am absolutely blown away by this place!!!! For music lovers like myself I feel I died and went to heaven selling both new and second hand tapes, cd's and vinyls this is a music lovers paradise. The music is divided into genres and you need to leave your bags at the front of the shop with a man. As the collection is so extensive you are able to look up records from their catalogue and if your not sure on the album you can listen to it on the I pads. It also sells books and comics and dvds so there is something for anyone! If you want to find some rare music gems in a cool chilled out hipster area amoeba records is the place to be
Alway as good experience on obscure music and rare recording, europe concert live CDs world music, jazz and good Blues,Grateful Dead all in all a saweet experience, No
I was surprised with the amount of music in the store, it's huge! Great selection of heavy metal LP's, the most I've seen in one place. The punk and rock is also good, and the new arrivals was fun to dig through.
Amoeba is a throw back to a time before online digital music crushed record stores: the kind to patronise and keep in the city. Wonderful place to spend an hour or more
Not really all it's cracked up to be. There are better organized record stores that are smaller now. Worth seeing if you've never been there, but if you're going on a mission to get records, I would hit up another spot.
