  • I have been the the Amoeba Store in LA and looked forward to seeing this version. As a fan of gypsy jazz Iwas looking for cds by Bireli Lagrene and Stochelo Rosenberg and found both. There is also a g...  more »
  • I understand that the 3 amoeba stores that exist in california, this is the original. It is not as large as the of los angeles, but is also gone. This Haight Aspbury, the hippie, san francisco area where everything is very picturesque. If these in san franncisco and you like music, you got that going.

  • This place is likely the largest music store in San Francisco. They have new snd used vinyl and cds, and dvds and blu-ray. Also record storage cases (which look well made) and shipping boxes, books on music, guitar picks, and probably many other things. Oh, and if you are into such things, there is a dispensary somewhere in the store. Just follow the green line.
  • Great place for buying current and old cd's. Great catalogue and good service. Think of going with a good two hours to really explore all the store and find the hidden jewels.
  • What a place! A real treasure for vinyl, comics, music, dvd, even vhs lovers. You'll find everything here, in a great atmosphere that you struggle to find anywhere else.
  • Not really all it's cracked up to be. There are better organized record stores that are smaller now. Worth seeing if you've never been there, but if you're going on a mission to get records, I would hit up another spot.
  • Man, I loved this place! Huge variety of CD's and vinyl's for all kinds of taste, well-sorted and some are quite cheap. Expect prices ranging from 5 to 10 dollars for the CD's, though. Only few are cheaper.
