  • 163 steps. Yes, I counted. This hidden treasure is located in a residential area in San Francisco. It does get crowded here with the workout groups and the tourists so just be prepared to dodge the runners and people taking pics. If its not too busy, take the time to appreciate each individual tiled step. Its so creative and if you are into art, you will love it. At the top of the stairs, if its not too foggy, you will catch an amazing view. Definitely worth the climb! Great workout, great photo op, this is a must see in San Francisco!
  • I love local land marks and this is a good one as far as free and public art goes. You do have to climb these stairs though to fully appreciate the magnitude of this art piece. I highly recommend starting from the bottom and go up. We got dropped off on the top of the stairs and had to climb down and then back up again (legs were burning). However, it did give us the time to really look at the different patterns in the mosaic and notice all the smaller details! Some of the tiles even have writing on them!
  • The stairs are beautiful. Great scenery. Beautiful plants. Just make sure to hide your valuables when you park. There are many signs posted warning about car break-in
  • One of the most excellent spot to see this beautiful city in all its glory! Stairs are kept surprisingly, incredibly clean despite the good amount of foot traffic on a nice day. Also, a perfect afternoon excursion to try to tire a 3 year old :)
  • Beautiful work of art with some healthy exercise. Would definitely recommend visiting especially since it's a lesser known tourist destination in a quiet residential area.
